Wouter Kellerman:

Globe-trotting South African Flautist and composer Wouter Kellerman’s album “Two Voices” won the 2011 South African Music Award (the Nations equivalent of the Grammy Awards) for Best Instrumental Album, reinforcing Kellerman’s standing as one of South Africa’s most innovative musicians. Whether writing intricate instrumental compositions or delighting audiences with a magnetic alchemy of warmth and technical mastery, Kellerman finds inspiration in the spaces between cultures and countries, genres and disciplines. The last few years have seen Kellerman performing in Berlin, Shangai, New York, Sydney and beyond including an appearance in front of 700 million people as part of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Ceremony.

Ricky Kej:

A true wizard of the keyboard and recording studio Ricky Kej has earned multiple awards and honours for his composition and production exploits. He has composed music for five feature films and 12 studio albums including over 2000 commercials seen by audiences around the world. Combining synthesizes cutting edge music technology and traditional instruments of both Indian and European origins into his captivating work, both within the new age/ world genre and beyond. Kej was declared an “India Rules Artist” by VH1 in 2003.

A truly global effort, Winds of Samsara is the dream of Wouter Kellerman and Ricky Kej, an unlikely but star matched collaborative duo. Inspired by Greek singer Zaris Alexiou’s rendition, Kellerman sculpts his own interpretation of this sinuous musical myth through tantalizing percussion, sparkling guitar, and his signature storytelling flute. Taryn Louch’s entrancing vocal performance tells of the cloud nymph Nefelis, who is pursued and treated ill by two mischievous angels who become enamored with her. Mighty Zeus steps in, though, and transforms her into a cloud so that she can be free from torment — a bittersweet reminder that love does not always play out as we might expect it to.

Though this traditional American folk song has come to possess several different sets of lyrics, one story stands out: The tale of a love between a French trader and the daughter of a Native American chief that serves as a bridge between worlds. Kellerman illustrates the classic tune with flute, choir, and beyond.

The love of brotherhood, whether forged by blood or circumstance, can be unbreakable. Just look at the partnership forged between Kellerman and his Winds of Samsara collaborator, Ricky Kej, as proof of how mutual respect and admiration can span oceans and result in beautiful works of art — including this powerful and uplifting track, which the team composed, recorded, and produced together across thousands of miles. “Aishwarya” tells the story of a young country girl seemingly destined for a simple life of domesticity. Instead, she summons the courage to disrupt tradition and defy expectations, to leave her home and study, to build a better life for herself, her family, and her community. This beautiful arrangement speaks to the love we must have for ourselves in order to make great risks — and follow even greater dreams.

A massive hit in South Africa during Kellerman’s years in grade school, this composition originally sung of love in his native tongue of Afrikaans. “So I long for you while the sun and the moon and the clouds move above me,” singer Anna Davel asks through her rich, buoyant vocals. “Do you miss me too? There, where you are in faraway lands. And do you long for me, as the sun and the moon and the clouds move above you?”

Grown up in Düsseldorf, Germany, Lena early developed a passion for music and praticed Djing already with her first tape recorder! After a musical education and influenced by artists like Cyrill Hahn, Jessie Ware or Joris Voorn, she started her solo project in 2012. The result is impressive: multiple releases on labels such as Wonnemusik, Indiana Tones or Emma Music. Her fresh and melodic tracks put you in the right mood for dancing in the clubs, cruising in your car or just getting through a hard day at work.

Eumir Deodato - Born the 22nd of June 1942 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and by 1967 moved to the USA. 

Musician, composer, arranger and producer. Known for his 1979-1982 production work for Kool & The Gang and composing TV and film scores. 
Primarily based in the jazz realm but who historically has been known for eclectic melding of big band and combo jazz with varied elements of rock/pop, R&B/funk, Brazilian/Latin, and symphonic or orchestral music. Mainly, his records can be categorized as pop/jazz or crossover jazz. His successes as an original artist (keyboards) occurred mainly in the 1970s. 

Since then, he has produced or arranged music in more than 500 albums for acts ranging from Kool & The Gang to Björk, Christophe and k.d. lang, while keeping his collaborations with fellow Brazilian artists Milton Nascimento, Ithamara Koorax and Marcos Valle.
