Hoëla Barbedette grew up in the centre of Brittany (France). At the age of seven she started learning the celtic harp with Anne Auffret. Bathing in a Breton musical and cultural environment, attending a lot of week-long courses with many harpists while also learning other Breton folk wind instruments, and finally starting to play on stage for concerts or festoù-noz (dance evenings), she gradually developed her own playing style on the harp, tonic and creative.
Hoëla belongs today to the new generation of harp players in Brittany. Among numerous and varied musical experiences, she recorded two discs in duo with the double-bass player Delphine Quenderff, one with the sixteen-musicians Breton band Norkst and one in solo, where she uses a harp with quartertones levers, one with Bon Matin (a meeting of two harp players from France and a Flemish bagpipe player and an accordion player from Belgium), and one with the breton singer Eric Menneteau. Her last album is a second solo album entitled  "Roc'h an Burtul" (2021).
Graduated as a state teacher of Breton Folk Music on the celtic harp, and working in a music school in Brittany, she loves sharing her passion during regular as well as occasional courses. She also published a book of scores, accompanied with a disc, of folk music from Brittany arranged for the celtic harp.

Hoëla Barbedette a grandi une harpe entre les mains, en Centre-Bretagne. Elle a commencé à jouer en concert et fest-noz dès le milieu des années 90, développant progressivement un jeu original de la musique traditionnelle à la harpe, tonique et inventif. Elle a enregistré deux disques avec le duo Barbedette-Quenderff (harpe et contrebasse), un avec le groupe Norkst (premier orchestre de la Kreiz Breizh Akademi), un avec Bon Matin, quartette de concert et de bal l'associant à une harpiste Poitevine, une joueuse de cornemuse Flamande et une accordéoniste Wallonne, un double album solo, et un disque en duo avec le chanteur breton Eric Menneteau. Son album le plus récent est un solo intitulé "Roc'h an Burtul".
Titulaire du Diplôme d'Etat de professeur de musique traditionnelle à la harpe, elle enseigne à l'Ecole de Musique du Poher à Carhaix (29) et anime des stages. Elle a publié un recueil de musique bretonne arrangée pour la harpe celtique accompagné d'un disque (éditions La Filerie).
