At over twelve minutes long, this track is more than twice as long as any other I've recorded before. Essentially it's a dozen mini-pieces that I decided to string together (hence the track's original name - "Stream Of Consciousness"), and because of the many instruments and tempo changes we treated it like twelve different songs when we were recording it (with names like 'Funky', 'Military', Happy Dream', 'Blusey' etc.)

Needless to say, this track was by far the most complicated and time-consuming to record on the whole album, but it was also the most fun. I think some of the sections have strong enough melodies that they could be expanded into stand-alone songs, so one day I might try to write lyrics for them and make them into an EP (maybe I'll call it "Creeks' or "Tributaries"!)

I recorded the videos above as soon as I got home after watching 'Yesterday', the new Danny Boyle/Richard Curtis movie about a songwriter who is the only person in the world who remembers the Beatles and their music.

There's a scene in the movie where Ed Sheehan challenges Jack, the main character, to write a song in 10 minutes, and I thought that sounded like a fun challenge so I decided to try it.

As you can probably guess by the fact that there are two parts to the video, I technically failed the challenge, but I still like the song I came up with (and writing a song in 20 minutes still isn't bad!).

Night Falls

"Midnight Queen" is a collaboration that goes across borders. It was written and sung by Luna Keller (based in Spain) and Eric Bay (Based in England) - two artists that haven't met in person. It's and emotional indie pop ballad that tells the story of a woman that has been hurt deeply, now she leaves a trail of broken hearts behind.
