Amniote Editions teams up with Mala Junta to release “The Collective Capsule” in celebration of 5th anniversary of Berlin’s favourite queer event.

“The Collective Capsule” is a celebration and tribute to the unique Mala Junta and it’s impact on Berlin’s vibrant contemporary queer scene as well as a reflection of the core principles of these two collectives, which serve as a mirror for the society we want to push forward.

The package features a 12″ vinyl record composed of 4 tracks from Mala Junta’s residents Hyperaktivist, Yazzus, DJ Tool, and D.Dan, as well as two compilations featuring Roza Terenzi, Jensen Interceptor, Mohajer, Peachlyfe, Francois X, Narciss to name a few..

The Collective Capsule Compilation Vol. 1 emerges on Amniote Editions on 23rd June.

Following on from recent releases on Hector Oaks’ KAOS/OAKS imprint and formidable London label Perc Trax, Christchurch, New Zealand based techno power-house Keepsakes is now presenting a 4-track EP of wonky and cheeky heavy-hitters via Boys Noize Records on ‘Lead Popsicle’. Combining the left-field sound design and heavy drums of his industrial background with the funk and groove of late 90s and early 2000s techno and second-generation Chicago house, the EP presents a tough yet playful side of the ever expanding Antipodean producer’s sound.

The EP starts with ‘Blink And Don’t Pay’ - a certified stomper taking its lead from electro and ghetto-house inspirations with threatening synth stabs, ear-worm vocal chants and shuffling drum work designed to get feet moving.

This is followed up by ‘Quit Your Dancefloor Yarn’ directly inspired by a number of unwanted club conversations. Wonky tom-led drum rhythms sit alongside quirky vocal loops and a fun alien-communication style synth section guaranteed to prevent punishing dance-floor chats.

Third up is ‘How To Edge An Edgelord’ with its rolling percussion rhythms, robotic vocal hook and atonal screeches and rumbles providing another slab of cheeky club bait for DJs seeking some degenerate drum funk in their sets.

The EP ends with ‘Tyrannical Conga’, a Keepsakes cut that has been in high demand since first being dropped on VTSS’ Dekmantel Boiler Room back in 2022. With its funky and transforming conga rhythms, flanged percussion hits, eerie vocals and sound effects and upfront chunky drum work this one has already been proving its ability to whip up dancers across international floors.
