Fun Facts:
So Begins the Crying is another song that started out as just a guitar piece.
George recorded a few instrumental tracks to a cassette and gave it to Ken so he could come up with some lyrics.
This song is one of the ones he came up with.
So Begins the Crying was also a regular in the live set of Rough Terrain.

Fun Facts:
Come to Me is a song George wrote about his childhood muse.
In 1982 she vanished from his life.
She moved to the midlands with her parents very unexpectedly, which was brutal.
When they were children, there was a time when they lived on opposite sides of the same street.
There was apparently a bizarre incident involving go-karts and itching powder.
This song was never performed by a band.
It was never heard by anyone before it was released here.

Fun Facts:
Much like a bass can be slapped, so can a guitar.
This song features a slapped acoustic guitar.
The Man Next Door is a song about George's neighbour.
He was a violent thug who taught his children a lot of antisocial behaviour.
His children spent most of the time brawling with each other, and other kids from the neighbourhood.
The man eventually attacked his wife and broke her arm.
The family separated, moved away, and their two cats disappeared with them.
These two cats, a silver tabby called Suzy and a ginger tom, were best friends with George's mother's cat, William.
William was very sad when his two friends were no longer there.

Fun Facts:
Same Old Road Again was a song George wrote to express his frustration at some of the unreliable musicians he had worked with.
Most of the guitar is played using fingers, not a pick.
It's not until the solo at the end of the song that he swaps to a plectrum.
This song was the second song Rough Terrain ever played live.
They ran into it from a cover of Steppenwolf's Born to Be Wild.
Rough Terrain performed this song many, many times.
It was also a part of the set of the first incarnation of The Ug Brothers.
This was the first demo to feature the Boss 220A drum machine, instead of the DR55 Dr Rhythm.
It required a much greater time investment in terms of programming.
He also had to add a few judicious extra beats to make some of the flams and fills.
These had to be added live to the drum machine track as it was being recorded.

Fun Facts:
Cloudbreak is a collection of jazz chords followed by a funky groovy riff jam.
An early version was once jammed by Wud.
This can be heard as a track called "Jamming" on their Wudsongs album.
The lyrics describe a memory George has, of looking up at clouds in the sky when he was 12.

My Roommate is a song about a strange and bothersome presence.
There were several witnesses to the weird phenomena.
The song was never performed by any band.
There is a lot of swirly Electric Mistress goodness about the guitars.
The tempo is slow, in the Adagio region, and the key is C#m.

Due to brexshit, broken britain, rip-off britain, corruption, lies and bias in the media, bigotry, racism, intolerance, polarisation, the fact that some of our family members would not be allowed to remain post-brexit, state-sponsored child trafficking (yes, that's right, we said it - it's pretty shocking, start reading from here if you don't believe it: https://forced-adoption.com/), an increasing sense of frustration and exasperation, and general total weariness of being treated with nothing but derision, ignorance and contempt by the entire shebang since the early 80s, we decided enough was enough and moved our entire operation from brexeter in the uk to begin our grand brexodus in 2017. We are now brefugees, living in brexile very near the border of the Czech Republic, Austria and Germany. If you live in (the crumbling remains of) the uk, do yourself a favour and leave. The upgrade in life quality will blow your mind.

* What do we stand for as a label?

We support all independent musicians who are doing something we find interesting. Our team members all have formal music education qualifications.

We are against corporate brainwash muzak, their puppet friends in the mass media, and many other corporate activities. We will fight their desecration of music until either it stops or we die. 

We believe in helping others in the face of corrupt laws and a broken system. We are pro democracy, green energy and free speech.

We're politically liberal. We cannot support the republicans, maga or gun violence in the usa. We don't see there's any real difference, other than in name, between the christian far right in the USA and the taliban in Afghanistan.

In the uk we are broadly pro LibDem/Green/Labour/SNP. We are VERY anti-tory, bnp, ukip, and any of their friends and associates. We have no trust at all in the uk right wing press monopoly and the bbc. Beware the bbc and its claims of neutrality. It is the propaganda mouthpiece of the tory party. It even charges a propaganda tax called the licence fee. But we like Test Match Special and Radio 6, so does that make us hypocrites...? Hmm.

We support independence for Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Cornwall. We support the individual and the underdog. We are anti-putin and his war, and pro-Ukraine.
