Born a King

For a change an "old" track again that has already been on audiomack and bandcamp for a while... nobody listened to it but I still f**ing love this epic track!

Maybe you have to be a fan of Pink Floyd or today's Progressive and Psychedelic Rock bands to dig this super long track?

Whatever... just stumbled upon another song using the same vocals by ill-esha... well, it's a decent house track, nothing less, but nothing more, nothing special. Vocals even seem a bit off... but hey, thousands listened to it.

So I thought: why not give my (three times longer) version another try here on boring old soundcloud?

It's a quite long melancholic space opera with some nice psychedelic special FX, just like the TV show! ;) 

Some of those scifi sounds are from legendary British sound designer and electronic musician Ian Boddy.

P.S.: There's still a whole album with all my songs featuring vocals by ill-esha. Still think they add up to one of the best pop albums from last year! That nobody heard, even heard of... Well, at least it's MY best pop album from last year! :P

Gonna remix it a bit and give it another try on Spotify & Co I think. 

But not that optimistic, considering what's "in vogue" these days. Those "orgiastic tracks": super short, overwhelming your senses... so that you keep coming back, push the replay button, generating those streaming dollars.

So maybe have to shorten some of the tracks a little bit nonetheless... hm...

Quebec City-based death metal trio and recent Unique Leader signees, UNBREAKABLE HATRED, will unleash the audio carnage of their forthcoming new full-length next month. Titled Ruins, the eight-track face-breaker was recorded by Chris Donaldson at The Grid Studios (Cryptopsy, Despised Icon, Neuraxis etc.) and is a sincere and violent exercise in spine-shattering malevolence; relentlessly fast, precise and rabid with enough brutalic grooves to windmill your way into oblivion.

Pummeling ears since 2008, the band has already earned the respect and adulation from some of extreme metal’s most esteemed figureheads. Suffocation’s Terrance Hobbs calls UNBREAKABLE HATRED, “one of Canada’s premier death metal acts,” adding, “this trio of power lays waste to the listeners ear drums on every level and then some!” “UNBREAKABLE HATRED blew us away each night with their energy and ripping songs,” championed Misery Index’s Jason Netherton, “it was a total pleasure to have them on our tour… Ferocious!” Cryptopsy’s Flo Mounier concurs, “UNBREAKABLE HATRED are definitely one of the new bands out there to be recognized! No Clean Singing today spews forth the first official helping of the record in the form of its title track, noting of the four-minute bruise fest, “It wastes no time putting your brain into a centrifuge and whipping it around at high speed, while sending the device soaring and diving like a hawk at the same time. The fretwork and drumming are fast and furious, yet all the abundant instrumental athleticism is harnessed within a song structure that’s anchored by punishing grooves that pull you solidly back to earth (and drive you straight down into it, too) just when you think the music is going to fly off into space. And the howling vocals are just as crazed and vicious as the relentless instrumental decimation. Forged by guitarist Philippe Drouin, his drummer brother Dominic and vocalist/bassist Simon B. Lapointe, UNBREAKABLE HATRED manifests a mutinous amalgam of old-school death metal brutality, modern technical wizardry and blistering groove making for a relentlessly visceral sound expedition. The band released their debut full-length, Total Chaos, in 2011 via Galy/Lacerated Enemy Records. INFO: Middle aged music maker (and recreational drummer) from the middle of Franconian nowhere (arranging* music from Space Jazz to Hip Hop, from Synthpop to Triphop, from Folk to Doom, from here to there, from then to now, and many things in between - except for EDM / Techno).

*) "arranging" because: Still having distressing little knowledge of musical theory, keys & chords doesn't qualify me as a composer. Mastering not a single musical instrument (disregarding some amateur drum skills and some lousy chords on guitar) won't qualify me as a (pro) musician either. "Producer"? Well, having dived into the world of producing/mixing only two, three years ago, jumping from DAW to DAW, mainly following a  bricolage approach (and my ears) on a trial and error course? So no, not "by profession".

Starting with "found footage" (samples / sounds / VSTs), or by just floundering about on the keyboard while trying out a new plugin, I never know where the musical journey leads me. [Well, except for, let's say, in a Techno/Trance direction, that's just not part of my musical nature... So if you're looking for some monotonic electronic beats, better look somewhere else! Apart from that, you're welcome to stay! ;)]
