Reloading Podcast

For our first podcast we have our resident Barnjem who has been very much influenced by electronic music for the past few years. Since moving to the UK he has delved into the underground scene of electronic music driving him to learn about the techno side of it.

In recent years he has desired to become a Techno DJ. Being surrounded and influenced by other DJs on the scene, learning as much as he can and finally settling his style between dark and trippy sounds including some breakbeats.

Seismic Activity is a techno DJ/Producer based in London originally from Scotland, focusing on the harder, darker side of techno.

Gary was playing in the trance scene in Edinburgh for a good 5 years but gave it up for the love of techno and a move to London. As a resident for @minimalforce he has been gracing the city with his hard energetic sets for a few years now!

Just released on @hhrlondon, he has been working hard on production with more releases to come and is definitely one to watch.

Vivi (@vividj)initially founded Wake Up With Techno last year for the purpose of sharing music to friends and beyond. Finally she has started to mix herself and in this set takes you on a journey with both chill and hard tracks, demonstrating her versatile music taste. We can't wait to see her playing from the dancefloor!

Her love of underground techno and clubbing is what drives her to be involved in the music scene and has resulted in collaborating with local DJs, labels and Resident Advisor.

WUWT: Reloading Podcast 00:04 - Vivi

Emma Yasumi's DJ sets reflects her well-travelled and random life. Having lived in Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey and London, her style is influenced by the hip hop, dancehall, ghetto house/juke and industrial rock scenes of the various cities she has called home.

In a typical set, you will find Emma traversing the House and Techno spectrum, juxtaposing various textures, melodies and moods to create a dynamic musical journey. A classically trained violinist, dancer and self described club kid, Emma Yasumi has only one requirement of her sets - that they keep the floor moving.

OLIV3R (@oliver-antonini) is an Italian techno and house DJ based in London.

Growing up in central Italy he was never a stranger to the disco, but it was not until he moved to the suburbs of Berlin in 2014 and spent several nights at the famed techno institution Berghain that he discovered his love for the darker sounds that would eventually come to influence his signature style. In 2016 he moved to London and he quickly became recognised for his hard hitting delivery of dark and percussive techno.

He shows off his style and tricky technical skills in this pumping set, so buckle in and enjoy!

A DJ for 15 years, Kiddo (@djkiddo) is a Chicago-area vinyl enthusiast that favors most current and classic techno, electro and house music, heavily influenced by the sounds of the Midwestern United States.
In 2017, Kiddo co-founded the Walking and Falling, a mentoring and workshop program for woman-identifying and non-binary music enthusiasts. She enjoys sharing her love of DJing and music with others through delivering workshops, mentoring, and teaching private lessons.

Kiddo goes back to the origins of techno music with this set, mixing old records with more recent favourites.

@olmouk is a DJ and producer based in London, UK. 
Active in the scene since early 2000’s, he has been spacing though different genres ever since, exploring different styles and techniques. 

The latest project of the artist started in the October of 2018: ØLMØ
It Is a study aimed to connect raw elements and vast soundscapes; it’s a research for a bridge through entertainment and cultural expression, art and chaos.

Kubrik is a London-based DJ and founder of Somnus. His passion for electronic music began in 2015 over the Turin underground clubs and festivals. Moved to the UK in 2016, Kubrik started running events with Somnus in 2019 and then became one of its residents in 2020. Shortly after, he joined the AAJA Radio team as biz developer and resident DJ.
In his sets Kubrik expresses dark and deep sounds, combining intense breaks with powerful techno and raw bangers.
