As we move into the heart of the winter here in Montreal, we are proud to debut another talented Quebecois artist on XYZ - Monarke. Hailing from Quebec City, he has gained international acclaim in recent years as a key figure for Soul Button’s Steyoyoke. Utilizing enveloping energy and ominous melodics, the Canadian’s progressive techno productions effortlessly catch the ear and hook the mind.

To close out the EP, Glyph reigns in the energy, acting as a perfect summary for the project as a whole. Steady melodies collide with delayed drums, formulating trippy tendencies and an innovative style of sound.

For love not money, for the people. Montréal-based DJ Charles Valentin is all about what brings us together. In his vision, the creation of joy rises above frivolous personal pursuits. Music is more and that's the message brought to the masses. His passion manifests itself in the finest grooves and sweetest melodies that House Music has to offer. Mixing a stellar fusion of deep and tech sounds, Valentin sets out to inspire and to take you beyond the bounds of your preconceptions

The young Canadian began his trip through the musical space nearly a decade ago. Like many, his first footsteps were influenced by two helmet-clad Frenchmen and an 'Alive' LP, which changed the world. Under the wing of Montréal's own Mike Robia, a recognized House maestro, Valentin learned the treasured secrets behind the collection of famed four-to-the-floor blends.

Numerous residencies across the province of Quebec followed before 2015 saw Charles Valentin cement his place among Montréal's next generation. Appearances at venues like Peopl, Velvet , Salon Daomé and Circus Afterhours were coupled with a prized residency at Pointe-Calumet’s burgeoning Beach Club. Valentin was tasked with setting the South Beach groove, sharing the bill with international acts like David Guetta, Hardwell, Dada Life, Tiesto and Armin Van Buuren.

His exploits didn't go unnoticed with guest mixes much in demand. Valentin debuted his sounds on both Virgin Radio and CKOI. Despite an already impressive list of feats to his name, you can be sure his drive and quest to excite hasn't faltered. Valentin is here for more than just making up the numbers.

Qui est Charles Valentin?

Pour la passion et non l’argent, pour le peuple. Le DJ Montréalais Charles Valentin est un maitre en ce qui a trait à rassembler les gens. Pour lui, la joie créée à travers sa musique dépasse largement ses ambitions personnelles. La musique nous emmène à un autre niveau et c’est le message qu’il cherche à propager. Sa passion se manifeste dans les mélodies que le House a à offrir. Valentin vise à vous inspirer et à vous amener au-delà des limites de vos idées préconçues de la musique. 

Le jeune Canadien a entrepris son voyage dans le monde de la musique il y a près d’une décennie. Comme plusieurs, ses premiers pas furent influencés par le duo masqué français, et leur LP « Alive », qui bouleversera le monde musical. Sous l’aile du Montréalais Mike Robia, reconnu dans le milieu montréalais, Valentin a appris les rudiments de l’art qui le passionne.

De nombreuses résidences à travers la province de Québec ont permis à Charles Valentin de faire sa place à Montréal. Des apparitions dans des lieux comme le Peopl , le Velvet, le Salon Daomé et le Circus Afterhours ont été couplées d’une résidence souverainement appréciée au populaire Beach Club de Pointe-Calumet. Valentin était chargé de mettre de l’ambiance sur la South Beach lors du passage d’artistes internationaux tels que David Guetta, Hardwell, Dada Life, Tiesto et Armin Van Buuren.

Ses exploits ne sont pas passés inaperçus. En effet, nous avons pu entendre Valentin à la fois sur les ondes de Virgin Radio et de CKOI. Malgré une liste déjà fort impressionnante de collaborations, vous pouvez être assurés que sa quête vers le sommet ne fait que commencer. Valentin est ici pour être le conducteur et non le simple passager du train qui le mènera vers le succès.
