From the super-energetic club rumblings of MACEO PLEX’s DISCÓTICO PLÉXICO to DJ TENNIS’ dreamy PIMIENTO DRIVE VERSION of A NUMB GAS TO THE FUTURE or FANTASTIC TWINS’ party bomb FANTASTIC POW POW, the journey through MONDO RE-ALTERADO is full of twists and turns – a world where an epic, cinematic soundscape such as SUPERPICHER’s RAINBOY SUPER SPACE sits comfortably alongside the claustrophobic, punishing banger that FANGO sculpted from stand-out cut “Pow Pow”. Meanwhile, RED AXES turn the casual narrative of “Life Is Strange, Life Is Hard, Life Is Great” into a bouncing workout – a great companion piece to WANT, DANNY DAZE and SHOKH’s propulsive, jagged dub version of “Fears Come True”. As we move into the heart of the winter here in Montreal, we are proud to debut another talented Quebecois artist on XYZ - Monarke. Hailing from Quebec City, he has gained international acclaim in recent years as a key figure for Soul Button’s Steyoyoke. Utilizing enveloping energy and ominous melodics, the Canadian’s progressive techno productions effortlessly catch the ear and hook the mind.

To close out the EP, Glyph reigns in the energy, acting as a perfect summary for the project as a whole. Steady melodies collide with delayed drums, formulating trippy tendencies and an innovative style of sound.

Munich's Benjamin Fröhlich, co-founder of the Permanent Vacation label, takes his turn on one of the most influential tracks in electronic music: "How Much Are They?"

Originally released in 1981 on the album “Full Circle”, "How Much Are They?" is a genre defying collaboration between Dub wizard Jah Wobble and Can's Jaki Liebezeit and Holger Czukay. With the combination of Dub elements, punk bassline and drum machine percussion the track is a blueprint for electronic music and ahead of its time in many ways. No surprise, it quickly became a staple in clubs from New York to Berlin.

Through the years the track was a big inspiration for Benjamin. His careful cover version updates "How much are They" for today's dancefloors, while maintaining the original atmosphere. Originally his version was part of LAGASTA's 10-year anniversary compilation. Now it gets the official release and finds the perfect home in Glasgow's Optimo Music imprint backed up with two remixes by Chicken Lips and Daniel Bortz. 

Andrew Meecham and  Dean Meredith revive their Chicken Lips moniker, that was responsible for a whole movement of Disco-Dub in the early to mid 2000's, and prove that they haven't lost any of the magic. German wonder boy Daniel Bortz reinvents himself and comes up with a heavy bass-driven version that sits somewhere between Jungle, Dub and early Techno. Ok, let's go!

After a fantastic start this year, with a beautiful release on The Purr label titled “Horn,” the experienced Greek producer VKD signs a beautiful original, titled “Can’t You See” for our label. In addition to the perfectly balanced original, between the genres that shape deep and organic house, the EP also consists of two strong remixes signed by Greenage and Stranger Tourists!

'Burgeoning techno duo Bonsai ring in 2021 with ‘Rule of Two’, a highly-anticipated 3-track EP that features atmospherically driving production elements from start-to-finish.The latest entrancing endeavor to come from the pair directly follows their hard-hitting remix of Galestian’s ‘Worlds Apart’, released in mid-September of last year, as well as their acclaimed 3-track ‘Event Horizon’ EP from the month prior. Out now on venerated Berlin-based imprint Steyoyoke Recordings, the ‘Rule of Two’ EP is available to listen to across all streaming platforms.

‘Forward Unto Darkness’ kicks off the EP with contemplatively brooding, elongated soundscapes. Repetitively stabbing synths, a propulsive rhythm, and infectious beat maintain the energy throughout with ease, and characterize much of the rest of this sonically enticing techno tour de force.

The titular track, ‘Rule of Two’, takes the reins next, and carries with it much of the same high-octane sensibilities. A rising tension is introduced in the first half, and takes its time to settle with the listener before unleashing forcibly with a four-on-the-floor ambiance.

Lastly, ‘Ancient Home’ rounds out the offering with a rapturous finale, evoking a palpable intensity throughout its entire duration. A melodiously flowing beat is paired flawlessly with the overall propelling tone, in turn crafting a rich juxtaposed mixture that doesn’t let up. In all, the 3-track EP is yet another stellar techno masterpiece from Bonsai.'

Manual Music's MNL label has been operating on the forefront of the progressive house scene ever since its inception in 2012. Now it's time to push the boundaries even further with 'Stop The Silence' by Aluria and Aman Anand - the labels' whopping 207th release!

Aluria and Aman Anand bring a proper underground warehouse vibe here. Deep chunky late night grooves, an infectious male vocal in combination with warm melodies make this an essential piece of forward thinking house music. And if you're not a fan of vocals then no problem; a dub mix is included as well.

To complete the single Australian progressive house maestro GMJ joins in on remix duties. It's his second appearance within the Manual Music family after last years immensely successful remix for Golan Zocher's 'Enter' single on Magnitude Recordings. He provides an interpretation that sounds less dark compared to the original, very funky and driving - a classic essential progressive house groover!

Aluria & Aman Anand - Stop The Silence (Dub Mix)

Argentine producer, Rodrigo Lapena, is making a sound digression by which he is recognizable, stepping out of the comfort zone of progressive house music and preparing a very interesting single, a single that is focused more on the deep and organic sounds of house music.
This is also his first release on our label, and is called "Infinite Thoughts". In addition to the beautiful original, we are also signing two remixes. The first remix is ​​the work of the DosTres project, which also comes to us from Argentina, while the second remix is ​​by Brazilian producer Edu Schwartz!
