After a spirited debut on DIALNINE, Montreal talent Hillel Shabtai returns to the label with a scintillating second in- stalment in the form of the 'Testimony' EP.

The title cut sees the worlds of breakbeat and house music collide in a high-octane dance-floor thriller. The track once again showcases the young Canadian's stellar vocal flair and his deft touch for crafting lush body-movers.

Joining 'Testimony' on the EP is the sumptuous, laidback groover 'Equals 5'. A certified party starter in its own right, the track fuses rolling hi-hats, delectable vocal touches and an inimitable bass-line.

Closing out the EP, is the Midnight Visions Mix of the title track. The rework turns in a powerful, straight-ahead twist, centred around a gnarly, late-nite low end.

Following Rashid Ajami’s ecstatic debut with the A-side on our latest Tales of Romance project, we’re thrilled to have him back in full as we kick off the summer months. Through work with the likes of Maya Jane Coles and Atjazz, the Londoner has built a sterling reputation with releases on Get Physical, Einmusika, Anjunadeep, and Tale & Tone. For his inaugural EP with the TOR imprint - Never Knew - he continues to purvey his exquisite brand of deep house. 

Chasing Ghosts elevates the energy with a sturdy house backbone. The timeless character oozes as playful synths and a revolving bassline enlist the need for a two-step. Rashid lets his production prowess do the talking here, allowing the instrumental arrangement to stir us into a deep groove.

Following the release of last year's joint single 'Inferno', the king Carl Cox reunites with Reinier Zonneveld and Christopher Coe once more for another fiery studio session. On June 28, the trio will release their latest creation 'This Is Our Time' via Zonneveld's Filth On Acid and Cox's Awesome Soundwave label.

The track they have concocted comes in three different flavors: Filth Mix, Pure Mix and Awesome Mix. Ahead of the release, Mixmag has picked up the latter for an exclusive premiere. The enunciated techno track drives on rubbery drums and bass that rattles the ribs while the air underneath its cosmic pads lifts you higher and higher.

Meanwhile co-owner, Matter, makes his solo debut for the rapidly rising label via the unique musical triptych of ‘Amanita’.

From his Melbourne home, Matty Doyle has generated a tsunami of success through his Matter production moniker. Able to point to a release portfolio with over 400 production credits to his name, such esteemed imprints as Balance, Anjunadeep, BeatFreak Recordings and Proton Music have all played host to his much sought-after music.

Now creating a new narrative for his unrivalled talents within his co-owned Meanwhile label, alongside fellow countryman, GMJ, ‘Amanita’ is redolent in trademark production features that have seen Matter is such high demand. A smooth blend of rolling percussive groove, heavy beat and cavernous bassline propel the title track forward with unrelenting pace, as a filtered arpeggio adds to the aural melange. A glorious synth lead enters the fray at the mid-point breakdown before a rousing wall of sound marks a club-friendly zenith before the track builds once more with its star-studded cast of musical characters.

The heavy beat and white-noise washes of ‘Hikikomori’ provide a weighty anchor, allowing an immaculately programmed bassline groove to weave its path between four-to-the-floor rhythm and offbeat hi-hat shuffle. A heavily delayed synth line adds a touch of class as it ripples across the seven-minute piece with ease, providing subtle introspection and emotive layers in abundance. The result is a head-shaking groover that is sure to the take dancefloors by storm into 2021.

A pulsating, running bassline immediately characterizes ‘Wormhole’ as it dynamically develops, courtesy of an intelligently placed melodic variation that provokes a spine-tingling emotion in the listener. An array of percussive shakers and chest-thumping kick create a spellbinding sonic palette, while a free-flowing synth line drenched in reverb and delay adds to the emotion playing off the filtered and now staccato bassline phrase. Creating a flawlessly executed progressive house anthem, Matter has once again demonstrated why his production work draws such high praise from fans and peers alike.

Within a career that continues to mushroom at impressive pace, ‘Amanita’ exhibits all the qualities that sees Matter very much flavour of the month, repeatedly.

Welcome to 'The Other Side Of The Moon'. The side we don't see when we gaze longingly at the starry sky and wonder what our purpose is.

Our pilot, navigator and partner in vibes if Bona Fide, one of Belgrade's most exciting new house and techno fusioneers. Having released on the likes of Anjunadeep, Kindisch and All Day I Dream, here our astronaut primes his rockets on Do Not Sit On The Furniture. A kindred spirt, it was only a matter of time before each other's dreamy, escapist electronics came into orbit with each other. And boy, what an orbit.

Armed with just a humble piano, beats, pads and percussion, the young Serbian artist conjures maximum emotion, tension and soul with minimal ingredients. The title track takes off with a simple ivory stroke and a deep meditative groove. It seems the lunar flipside isn't as dark as Pink Floyd once told us; there's also hope, light and a calming soul. It's backed up by 'Once Upon A Sunrise' where similar motifs take us even further into the light. Hypnotic, enduring and laced with that contemplative uplift we're all seeking right now, it takes us from the moon right back to earth in a glow of solar rays.

Finally we conclude with 'Los Hijos'. Translating to 'Children', this one is all about the future and the world we pass on to the next generation. The most dramatic piece of the release, once again we're swirled in a world of pianos but with a much stronger sense of urgency. There's still a sense of hope but it's compounded by an urgency that we all need to consider right now if we want the next generation to stare at the same starry sky, too. Take care.

Although it’s been a year to forget for most of the electronic music scene, we’re happy to say that Nōpi has come through the tumultuous times stronger than ever. He began the year making his debut with us on the inaugural Blanche project, seizing the spotlight with an XYZ instant classic - Mayaya. Since then, he’s graced the likes of TRYBESof, Anjunadeep, and Kindisch, establishing himself at the core of the deep and melodic community.

As a final nod to his defining year thus far, we’re thrilled to have the Ukranianian back on the label to close the circle on 2020. Landscape Cloud is a project we’ve been looking forward to for many months, harnessing the tones that we’ve come to love from Nōpi.

On the A-side, he’s connected with Indian vocalist Shrii for a true beauty.
