Epic track man. Love the lyrics. I've gone deep on myth again recently. I've been considering the possibility  that they are stories of realities but that hard elements of society have maybe oppressed to pull people towards a particular frame of reference such as christianity. Maybe they were purposely changed to make people fear the actual stories of earlier realities that possibly went against religious doctrines. Not likely given what historians and mythologists say but maybe conceivable :-)

The harmonic-heavy guitar riff I here play on the 12-string was pre-existing. Everything else about this song -- including that it was to be a song at all, instead of an instrumental piece -- was decided and realized in the course of working on it. I am of course (I say 'of course' because my schooling was completed before the present era of unionized indoctreducation) familiar with Mr. Poe's poem on the theme. I have done him one better in recursions of irreality, though whether my lyrical Jungian rimbaldianisms are worthy even to stand in the same room as the master is of course for you, the listener, to judge.
Cover art is by the Finnish artist Gallen-Kalleka. Myth, after all, is a sort of collective dream.

Recorded this on my late Uncle Liam's acoustic, a 1983 Ovation Ultra Series which he gave me when I was 18. It has an intonation problem but still felt it was the tool to use. I miss him man. I wouldn't play guitar if it wasn't for Liam's early seeds and inspiration both in performance and theory. I can see him playing Help by The Beatles and Hotel California by The Eagles in my Nana's place like a video in my head. I was in awe. Liam had a stutter earlier on life and got on top of it. Music was maybe a big key for that or at least as I understand even when he had it... It never effected his singing and playing. Let's give our kids proper music please. It's our only proper medicine 🎶
