This is a live all 45 mix made with one turntable and a loop pedal. It was constructed for Red Bull's 45 night on October 27 2008 in LA. This mix includes some cutting room floor ideas from The Hard Sell (DJ Shadow and I on 8 turntables and two loop pedals) and elements from what would later be part of my one turntable/loop pedal live mix CD "Sound Of The Police", which is out now.

2 years ago we came to the Grove on the most fleeting of visits, hardly having a chance to even cool down from post-show-adrenaline before rushing off to another tour stop. We ain’t messing about with any of that lark this year . We’re on site from start till finish, soaking up the spectacle, transitioning from performer to audience member and back again as fully invested witnesses to one of the most celebrated gathering anywhere in the continent. Gassed is an understatement.

In the last few months, I've been excavating old cassettes from the "Mom's House" era. This installment is a simple sample tape from 1993. Sample tapes are what I used to make in order to remember which loop ideas I liked as I listened to records I either just got or had sitting around for a while. Most are just one element. There are a couple of layered arrangements as well which means I had high hopes they would turn into something. Happy to say a couple of these samples found nice homes as you may recognize.
