This piece was inspired by cloudy overcast days that are not gloomy, but instead - strangely cozy and comforting. It's about finding warmth in the melancholy and finding beauty in the chaos. 

It's inspired by my two current obsessions: organs and the Elgar cello concerto. I'm fascinated by the oscillating quality of the organ's sound, which I have tried to emulate using a synthesiser (Deckhard's Dream). The water-like soundscape was created with a granular synthesiser used in conjunction with a synthesiser (Moog DFAM?)

The 3rd movement of Elgar's cello concerto for me conjures the imagery of death and transcendence; of a person's soul leaving this world and floating up towards the blinding sun in a delirious catharsis. It's one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever played, and I wanted to bring that sense of a blissful fever-dream to this piece.
