Vid (@vid-imatovi) is a young DJ from Zagreb who first showed interest in electronic music in elementary school. By the beginning of high school, he had already performed officially for the first time at the iconic Aquarius club on the A1 floor during New Year’s Eve 2017. At that time, his sound was rooted in minimal techno and deep dub elements, but by 2020, his style had evolved to encompass various subgenres of electronic music.

He has a deep love for both house and techno music and can never quite decide which one he prefers, it all depends on the situation, the vibe, the crowd, and the venue. Since 2017, he has performed at venues such as Podmornica, Depo, Funk, Aquarius, Sound Factory, Kocka, K4, Garden Brewery, Galerija SC, Paromlin, Kalypso, as well as at private events. He has also played at Moondance Festival in Trogir and Linear Festival in Petrinja.

Since 2023, he has been a member of the newly formed, multi-collective union and community called Kongres Kolektiv, which brings together many different minds sharing the same vision and ideas, both musically and socially. The collective was founded with the goal of contributing to the development of club culture and techno in Croatia.

Founder of the Vortex parties and a resident at Den Anden Side, the music of Neri J breaks the boundaries between techno and genres like acid and trance. Hard hitting, with high intensity and never resting in her delivery, these are the trademarks of one of Copenhagen’s underground most hard-hitting stars.

This is a recording from the last CUKR. The set took place from 5:30 to 7:30 in the early morning. It wasn’t a closing set, but I treated it a bit like one.

In my eyes and ears, this might be the best set I’ve ever played. I don’t even know why exactly, it’s nothing really special. It’s full of small mistakes, overcrowded at times. Maybe I’ve played dozens of better ones. But I got back to the things I’ve always loved. I stepped away from the expectations I’ve been putting on myself lately. I sometimes choose music more for the crowd than for myself. This time I promised to me I would play for myself first.

I returned to the style I’ve always loved the most – layered techno with longer, restless parts, no predictable buildups, and almost faint base drops. That’s what I’ve always loved and what I still look for in a set that pulls me in.

I don’t consider myself a DJ. I step into the booth only a few times a year, but I have the chance to be a resident at CUKR gatherings and play for thousands. It’s humbling and I’m very grateful that I can add my small part to this beautiful and pure platform.
