Sitting down and writing about our latest EP was a fun but challenging exercise, we scratched our heads and this may sound bad but we couldn’t think of deep, dark interesting stories on how we made these tracks or what they represent. These jams are simply a combination of previous and random happy accidents that have come together and saying anything else would be a lie. This however does not mean that the thinking behind them is completely random, the three cuts that we selected for this EP we feel are a journey of experimentation and a culmination of unexpected sounds and feelings. A word that we found best described the EP was ‘Irony’.

The most ironic thing we feel is that the main basis of these tracks were born on the stage during our live performances and they have now been reworked and moulded into a record. We however feel that this brings an interesting element to the EP that yes it is recorded and set, but you are not quite sure where the next sound or feeling will come from. A hi hat? A kick? It is pure ‘organised randomness’...

I suppose we should talk about some of the music and try and explain what we mean! We start with ‘Pe dos’, which in plain English means inside out and it was a track that we had started back in 2011. We were flicking through our ‘curiosity closets’ one day and found it, we played around with it and heard a kick drum that was not arranged correctly in the sequence due to a random manipulation of the sequencer. Our first thought was to just change it, but then we decided to wait..... when all the other sounds of the tracks came together we threw the kick back in and BAM, Even the acapella voice of the track was screaming. Therefore it was a simple for us to name this track as we worked on it in a completely back to front and “Inside Out” way!

The other two tracks on the EP were born in a similar way, reborn again out of the dark corners of our packed ‘curiosity closet’. The track ‘Noococ’ is perhaps the track with the most irony on the EP. Having been made originally after an amazing gig at Amnesia in Ibiza in 2012, we were in a recording frame of mind which gave the song its basis but we would still play it within our live shows. ‘Noococ’ has been therefore from recorded track, to live and now back to recorded in a quite weird but groovy journey. The final track, ‘Trandafirit’ has no such meaning. It is again a raw track stemming our live show some time ago that inspired us to recreate and retouch. Again through experiments and lots of head banging on walls, we recreated and accomplished a track that stayed true to the original writing of it but also embodied change which in a way is symbolic of the development of our project over the years.

Now, we did warn you at the beginning of this wordy mess that it has been ‘organised randomness’ that has brought us to create these tracks and this EP, but one thing we are sure about is that we knew we would love to and be very honoured is to be able to put out this collection of cuts via Vakant. A label that has been close to our hearts and heads for a long time. We hope you enjoy the EP and that the music can help translate some of the shit above.

As per its penchant for cyberdelic enigmas, Jimmy Edgar’s Ultramajic outpost is building a core of secretive producers. After closing out 2014 with a record from unknown newcomer Crystal Bandito, the label will return in 2015 with an offering from semi-anonymous beatmaker Aden. The tracks on Tanz, which is the German word for "dance", are hewn from bouncing drums, vocal yelps, glittering keys, and a few functional white noise-infused breakdowns that pack a solid dose of energy and spirit. "Tanz 1 – Lieb" is a gentle intermission from the EP’s intense vitality, with warm and soft pads that lay the foundation for blunted percussion. From rigid pumpers to soothing textures, the Tanz EP contains a range of moods to fuel human bodies on the virtual dance floors of a digital future.

Lasse Winkler alias ACUD gelangte über Umwege zu dem Sound, der ihn heute ausmacht. In seiner Jugend fing er, inspiriert von Alben wie Torch’s „Blauer Samt“, mit dem Schreiben von Rap-Texten und dem Musizieren am Rechner an. Das erste Mal „Extrawelt“ hören, das erste „Fusion Festival“ gingen jedoch nicht spurlos an ihm vorbei. Zuerst mit dem Duo „Beatmörtelz“, jetzt alleine als „ACUD“, sieht er die treibende Kraft stets in mal episch großflächigen, mal knarzend verzerrten Melodieläufen. Immer wieder ertönt in seinen Tracks auch seine klare Stimme, die einen wichtigen Part in seiner Musik einnimmt. 2012 gründete er zusammen mit ein paar Artgenossen das Label KELLER, spezialisiert auf „visuelle“ Tanzmusik.

‘Temporary Sanity’ first appeared on the critically acclaimed ‘Time’ (LF017) album by Guy Mantzur & Sahar Z, and has remained a standout favourite since the LP was released back in November 2014. Now, Cornucopia has breathed a new life into the track with a beautifully melodic, subtle, sun-drenched percussive remix.

Already a huge track for John Digweed, who loved it so much, he featured it on his recent ‘Live In Montreal’ (Bedrock) release. Since then, the demand has been steadily growing for Cornucopia’s remix to be released in its own right, so at last, here we have it in all it’s glory on Lost & Found.

Once in a while an album appears that is distinctly special and has the ability to captivate audiences on a global scale, breaking through simplistic genre boundaries and uniting people through its exploration of the psyche of modern electronic dance music. Guy Mantzur & Sahar Z’s ‘Time’ project was such an album, and it remains as captivating and enthralling today.

The House Gallery crew are infamous in the motor city for their DJ skills and J. Garcia can get it in the studio too. The follow up to his Goslings EP is a grip of chunky, stark and minimalistic house tracks for the heads. On remix duty is the Detroit techno pioneer Thomas Barnett, known as one half of Rhythim is Rhythim and co creator of techno classics like Nude Photo, as well as a vast catalog of records under one alias or another. Thomas' Groove Slave moniker makes a showing here and the result is high powered 313 future soul.

As always Kling Klong gives space for new artists and supports upcoming talents. This time Martin Eyerer & Rainer Weichhold had no doubts signing this debut release from Stuttgart's dj/producer Ninetoes as 'Finder' is obviously a massive stand-out track which has the words 'summer hit' written all over it. So it was just easy to convince Leon and Re-UP from Italy to do the remixes and help to make this release even more oustanding.

For our debut we've prepared a special edition fitting not one, but two artists altogether.
This is a live recording from a certain event that took place at The Black Sea coast not long ago (yes, that special festival we all love), featuring a b2b set from Barac, half of NoiDoi duo project and his partner in crime in recent times, Herodot.
It's one of the few recordings (if not the first) on the web under the Barac moniker, probably the best kept gem of the Romanian scene at this point. And these two guys go along so well, as if they were a match made in heaven.
