His sound is faced paced, hypnotic and rhythmic with an added touch of 90's inspiration.

Johan Sebastian es un DJ y productor asentado en Madrid. Su carrera musical comenzó en Londres, donde se hizo un nombre en salas como Egg LDN, Bloc, Ministry of Sound y Shelter. A partir de ahí, tuvo la oportunidad de compartir escenario con artistas destacados en clubs de Europeos como Golden Gate (Nápoles), Fundbureau (Hamburgo) y Kremlin (Lisboa). Desde su llegada a Madrid, ha participado en eventos de Crow, NewFaces, Phase.CTV, Bunkers Collective, LoopStage, AlterEgo, Hölle y Oxtechne. Además de comenzar su residencia con Symbole Community a comienzos del 2023, donde sigue creciendo e innovando como artista en la escena local.



Su música ha salido en compilaciones  de diversos sellos Europeos como Platform 22, Canticle, Influenced, Beluga, PRTL WRX, Obskura y Re.flect. Sus 2 últimos EPs , disponibles en Bandcamp, reflejan su evolución como como productor. Cada una de sus producciones se enfoca en ritmos contundentes y elementos hipnóticos pensados para la pista de baile.



Su estilo abarca diferentes subgéneros del techno, los cuales van desde el deep/dub, hasta el sonido tribal y hardgroove de los 90s y 00s. Adapta su selección musical según cada momento, manteniendo una energía constante a lo largo de sus sets mediante transiciones fluidas, elementos rítmicos dinámicos y atmósferas envolventes

It was a true honour playing in the main room on one of my favorite sound systems ever. This set will forever be burnt into my memory as its one of the most enjoyable time I've had behind the decks. Árni @arnininix is a Berlin-based DJ, curator, and founder of the Iceland-born label NIX – a platform dedicated to showcasing raw, forward-thinking club music that bridges emerging talent and seasoned producers. With a sharp ear for unconventional textures and hypnotic rhythms, Árni’s sound navigates between deep, driving techno and percussive experimentalism, always with a strong sense of narrative and movement.

His DJ sets are rhythmically bold and cheeky – crafted for dancefloors but with a distinct avant-garde edge. As the head of NIX, he’s shaped a sonic identity that’s both daring and deeply rooted in underground culture, pushing boundaries while staying grounded in groove.

KWINTI WITAGRON

Kwinti is the smallest of the six recognized maroons of Surinam. They formed their communities in the rainforest and have their own marron language Kwinti.
Witagron is one of the main settlements and home to the Kwinti. Until this day the strength of the six tribes are very present where even still the smallest communities have the biggest impact.

At my sweetspot this one hour mix is recorded at 144 bpm. I've emphasized sexyness and groove but at the same time find deeper moments without letting go tension. Dansi yere!

This is the first episode of NAX Invites, a monthly series where artists will showcase a different side of their sound through carefully curated sets. This is a space for contrast and personal storytelling. Each mix is meant to evoke a journey and reveal an alternate musical identity. On the first hour, I will present a mix from myself, followed by an introduction to the artist and his mix. 

For the first guest mix, I welcome @m3str - a talented artist from Portugal, co-owner of @analytical-convenience from Porto. He has delivered a beautiful hour of driving sci-fi sounds.

NAX Invites 01 - M3STR

Joining me for this first special lockdown episode is Seville based, Columbian born Johan Sebastian. 

Meeting Johan a little while back I was struck by his passion for the scene and the music we love. Shortly after that he was showcasing his own event “Eighth Road” at London’s we’ll known BLOC venue.

following this I was invited to play at showcase alongside Johan, Szier and Siah. Where I see Johan’s talent exceed expectations with an incredible closing set after DJ rush. Since Johan has been pushing his own ideas in the studio which has lead to a brilliant release on our own Platform 22 imprint.  

On tonight’s episode I’ll be asking Johan more about his experience with showcasing events in London as well as his Studio set up and workflow. Plus what feeds his inspiration through this current situation
