Taken from the second EP from The Atom

The second EP from The Atom, named "Second to None" is due for release. Almost two years after their debut, "First Deadly Steps" , "Second to None" marks a step towards a more ethereal soundscaping, rest aside not losing track of their trademark sounds; Post-Punk guitars, New Romantic basslines as well as Analog synths. However, new vocalist, Kajsa Olofsson, has provided The Atom with a complete new set of melodic arrangements, managing to open doors to musical influences yet unknown.

I've been writing songs on and off for over 20 years, I write mostly about life experiences and anything that I'm passionate about or situations that I've been in but sometimes imaginary too.. Music means so much to me and I'm really enjoying recording more in this strange lockdown year...

Dan Cook is my stage name. I'm a Swedish hobbyist musician and songwriter. I have written and produced everything that you can hear here (Exept the David Bowie Christmas Cover). I master the following instruments:

I started writing my own music in the late 90's. Mostly I write about everyday events. Ways to build a song vary but I usually find the melodies when I sit down with my guitar and after that  I add a little bit of everything.
It happens that I sometimes dream songs too and then I usually sneak up in the middle of the night and hum a little quiet when I record on the phone, I don't want to ruin anyone's sleep :)
I write, sing and produce all my songs on my own.
