i got to travel a lot in north africa in the last years thru touring with blitz the ambassador and the studio session with oddisee for sawtuha in tunisia. while being there i did some digging and found some incredible music from the 60s and 70s. some of the music in this mix has zero info on the net, was never sold on ebay and has not been "rediscovered" yet. others are somewhat classics in the field of „arabic groove“. the music in this mix comes from morocco, libya, eggpt, algeria, lebanon and syria.

Sammy Hobeika, better known as Sammy Clark, is a famous Lebanese singer, born in Lebanon in the village of Dhour el Choueir. The Lebanese singing star was at the height of his fame in the 80's. Sammy has indeed won several awards for his outstanding performances in music festivals around the world.
He has a gift for singing in English and Arabic, as well as in French, Italian, Armenian, Greek, German and Russian. He thus distinguished himself on the international scene, more particularly in Austria, where he was awarded the Menschen und Meer for his famous song "Mori Mori"  

Balout Krew got together with a musical genie MF TOM in the studio, to produce a club edit of the song ... by sammy clarke. MF TOM is known for his excellent hip hop productions, but here he mashed up an old lebanese dance track with a 909 kick and some funky baselines.
