Born and raised in San Diego, California, Brendan Ryan grew up on a wide variety of musical influences throughout his life. His knowledge for music started while listening to underground hip hop, reggae, punk, metal, oldies, and classic rock. At age 12 he discovered jungle and at that point, it consumed his life. He couldn't get enough of it. Because of his new found love for this upbeat genre, he came to realize making music was really his passion. Working hard to live the life he enjoys, Brendan stays focused and devoted to this love for music which is heard through his sets. Whether its playing music, making people dance or producing, his wide range musical talent is evident in his DJ sets and musical productions.

iLLith is an incurable music addict since childhood & she searches relentlessly around the globe to get her fix, fishing through the interwebs for the freshest in indefinable genre & next level sounds. When iLLith started playing piano at 4 years old, she began a lifelong love affair with the world of sound, has played 6 musical instruments, performing spoken word and been chronically communicating about music on community, pirate and globally streaming radio programs since her teens. A hula hooper (often during DJ sets with her LED smart hoop) flow artist & dancer herself, iLLith sets are multi-genre, bass laden, tempo shifting sonic journeys that keep your body moving.

Ever since I started listening to Faithless, Paul Oakenfold, and Sandra Collins 20 years ago I have marveled at what it must be like to DJ like them. I am a member of a small DJ Theme camp at Burning Man called PLAYA54, and this year I made the intention to DJ. I got myself a Traktor S4 and taught myself. I have never done this before. At a life low a couple years ago when I chose life I promised myself that I would start doing the things I have always dreamt about doing but kept putting off. It was amazing. At times I felt like I was riding the biggest wave in the world in total control and other times my Traktor felt like a rocket ship taking off with me hanging on by my fingertips. I loved every moment of it. While trying to put together my set I stumbled across new a new to me techno genre, High Tech / High Intensity Minimal – Boris Brejcha and his fcking serious label of musicians, Ann Clue, Deniz Bul, & TheyDream. This also lead me to another style called Melodark, by HOZHO. I was instantly hooked! I knew that I had not heard this sound on the Playa and wanted to bring it there this year. My set is about me, my past, making a change and, who I am now and becoming. HOZHO’s Fur Heisenberg, and Be The Best & Fuck The Rest, deeply resonated for me with my past and all the work I have put into myself. Which is why I put them first. I used my 20 years of listening experience to Paul Oakenfold to tell my story through music. This experience has filled my heart with gratitude and love. The compliments I got while playing were incredible. A good friend who is an artist went into his studio with a practice recording I gave him and played it when I went live to be there with me and created the amazing piece that you see on my profile. 

My set is not perfect. It is perfectly imperfect just like me. I hope you like it.
