Presenting DBGI004- a hot and messy, sub dusting release from Chungo. Returning with a two track EP, designed to have you singing along to its melodies and moving your feet.

The first track ’Charcoal’ is a massive rainbow road bop, featuring Chungo’s groove at its finest, served up with a swinging dream of a melody which will keep you awake at night. The second track ‘Shuv It’, is an evolving pop group of pads and vocal stabs. Snappy percs and heavy sub frequencies, to conclude a two tracker made for DJs and movers.

@leshlingi debuts on Scuffed Recordings with three tracks spanning anthemic breaks, wonky UK techno and percussive club music.

Born in Iceland and now based in London, INGI has begun to make a name for himself in the UK’s club scene with his brand of broken UK club music, pulling on influences from across the electronic music spectrum.

His ‘Wrestle’ EP on Fly By Night Recordings was released at the end of 2021 and saw support from the likes of Madam X, Danielle, Anastasia Kristensen, and Frazer Ray.

Starting off proceedings on the EP is the electrifying title track ‘Fade’, anchored around glitched-out vocals and powerful breaks.

Up next is ‘Kurt’, an altogether more leftfield club track with swung percussion, robotic bass stabs, and metallic synth work.

Closing out the release is ‘Point’, whose staccato vocal stabs and rolling percussion pay homage to some of the best of UK techno and bass music.

PREMIERE: White Afghani & DNAonDNA - Reactant [Sound Transmissions]

Scuffed Recordings line up their second vinyl sampler, featuring four heavy-hitting club tracks spanning the last year of the label’s output. The release sees tracks from Dubrunner, Heritage, Stones Taro, and Joe Craven pressed to vinyl for the first time, in a limited run of white labels.

Kicking off the release is Dubrunner’s ‘Zoya’s Trip’, originally released in December 2019 on the Scuffed Presents 003 release. Zoya’s Trip has become one of the most popular tracks in the Scuffed catalogue, spending six months in Beatport’s Leftfield House & Techno top 10, and seeing DJ support from the likes of Anja Schneider, Moxie, and Oneman.

Up next is ‘The Revelation’ from Brighton-based duo Heritage, taken from their EP of the same name. With its bass-heavy, breaks-driven beat, The Revelation picked up plays on BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, Boiler Room, and saw coverage in Mixmag and DJ Mag.

On the B-side Scuffed veteran Stones Taro steps up with the weighty ‘To Rave’. As one of the most long-standing members of the label’s roster, Kyoto-based Stones Taro has become a firm fan favourite with his idiosyncratic take on UK rave music.

Closing out the release is Joe Craven’s ‘Staring At Your Feet Or Mine’, a percussive UK techno stepper originally taken from the Bristol-based producer’s debut release.

Scuffed Vinyl Sampler Vol 2(Previews)

Sheffield breakbeat champions & Club Glow collective members Denham Audio make an appearance on Lobster Theremin with Transcendence.

Club Culture is a heady tribute to UK rave culture, combining classic breaks with a monologue from generations past. Denham Audio speed things up on Retort, fusing their love of breakbeats with a sound palette ubiquitous with acid house. On the flip, patois bars punctuate the bleeps-and-breaks of Run Da Ting, while the vocal layered between Top Boy’s whirling bass and digitally distorted drum programming may be recognisable to some. Closing track Transcendence is an ethereal jungle roller with guest vocals from 7ip7o3, that rings true to its name.

‘Transcendence’ drops Friday 12th March, via Lobster Theremin.
