ORIGINS, the third personal Iloh’s project is about these simple questions that no-one can answer. A singular album between ambient, IDM and techno tracks that makes you wonder. It is not about getting answers, it’s a relief, an escape, a confession.

5. SHALLOW - DEEP

We go about our daily lives without giving it much thought. In the morning, we wake up to the alarm on our smartphones, turn on the tap, wash our faces with the water that comes out, and brush our teeth. We eat breakfast heated in the microwave, oven, or on the stove, and then we take the train or drive to work or school.

If we don't pay attention, the day goes by without us feeling anything special. But this is not the norm. We are just standing on top of the layers of history that our predecessors have gradually accumulated through their wisdom and effort. And we are only part of the layer that the next generation and the generation after that will stand on.

This work imitates the accumulation of such invisible history in sound. The sounds don't build up, just five mundane five-minute drones, but if you pay attention, you'll notice that they change little by little. I believe that to observe this is to see the invisible history and to get to the essence of things.
