What an amazing feeling to play at DeMentha for my second year. After a rough start battling the elements, Tuesday finally brought sunshine and with it, the good vibes. Tuesday Opening Set @ DeMentha // Burning Man 2025 // Indie Dance

Still buzzing from last weekend’s Burning Man Decompression at The Loom in Oakland. The amount of energy that goes into making this event happen is just incredible. All of the builders, artists and crowd brought their A-game and you could feel that energy in every corner of the space.

It was an amazing day on all fronts. The art installations were stunning, the people were glowing, and it was such a joy to walk around, see so many familiar faces, and get a little taste of the playa again after a few months. I loved seeing so many kids there too, and it was special to bring Kaya along for his second decompression.

There were so many highlights throughout the day and closing out the DeMentha x Sound Garden stage with my Irish bro Oliver was the perfect way to end it all. Huge shout out to everyone who helped create this magical day. Can’t wait for the next Burn and hopefully another decompression at The Loom because that place really had something special!

A very special set for me as I got to debut my original track "Chula". You can hear it half way through the set. I'm excited to release it soon, stay tuned for updates on my Instagram.

I'm feeling very inspired by Afro House, Techno and Indie Dance lately. Using the different genres to create emotional moments to lift people up and then bring them back down - into their body - with energetic, groovy and percussive sounds. A combination that's working well to create an uplifted and moving dance floor.

Yaz is a San Francisco-based DJ who enjoys playing tech house, deep tech, minimal, and techno. He is an active member of the Burning Man community and underground house/techno community in San Francisco.

Yaz has played all over San Francisco at all the major venues, including Public Works, Mighty / The Great Northern, Monarch, Midway, and Halcyon. He was a resident DJ at the venerated Wish Lounge for 5+ years, running his monthly Wayward party right up until the pandemic caused Wish to close. Once it was safe to do so, he has taken Wayward to its new home F8 Nightclub, and has been a resident there since August 2021. 

Yaz has collaborated with many different promoters and labels, and has opened and closed for (or shared billing with) well-known artists including John Digweed, Bob Moses, The Scumfrog, Tommy Four Seven, John Monkman, Technasia, and Marques Wyatt, to name a few.

His love for Burning Man is only rivaled by his love for music. His styles go from deep tech, minimal and techno to indie dance. You can find him on the playa playing for his camp DeMentha, and everywhere else for The Janky Barge, Airpusher, and Icarus. Yaz has also participated in many fundraisers in San Francisco for the aforementioned camps, as well as DISTRIKT, Mayan Warrior, the Salty Jacks, and others.
