We had a great vibe, turnout & tunes at a special Friday Wayward edition in F8's front room. Thanks to all the DJs on the roster. Thanks to all the F8 staff. Thanks to our host Yaz! Hope to do it all again soon!

This time around, I decided to try something a little different. I had a pretty good idea of what @justynmyers would spin before me, and I definitely knew what @oganic would throw down after me, so I attempted a selection of songs that would create a nice dovetail. 2025-01-17 Live at Wayward

What a way to start off the new year! For January 2025, Wayward did a rare Friday front room takeover at F8, and we started the year off with a bang! Our extended lineup consisted of Xyme, Justyn Myers, Adam Iko, OGAN, and yours truly, then we finished off the night with a little B2B session between OGAN and Yaz (left out of this recording -- by that point OGAN was still on point, but I was half DJ half mezcal)... All the homies came out of the woodwork, the dancefloor was packed, and I'm still smiling thinking about it 2 weeks later!

For the February 2025 edition of Wayward, I was very excited to drop a bunch of tracks that I had just picked up the week prior, and was salivating at the thought of playing them in a club setting! It was a super fun night, and I was joined on the decks by some very talented artists: DJ Cira (Adult Services), Jonboy (Disco Katz), and fellow DeMentha member Feen. Wayward at F8 // February 2025

Playing at Mezcal Amores was an absolute dream come true. ✨
In Mitla, one hour from Oaxaca - mountains all around, an agave field straight out of a painting, with Olivia Steele’s glowing art installations and messages scattered across the landscape like guiding stars. A lineup full of artists I deeply admire. A production that left zero wishes unfulfilled. And a crowd that felt like home.
Honestly, it was a “pinch me” moment from start to finish. I’m endlessly grateful to have been part of this year’s Oaxaca Experience.
Deborah - the biggest thank you to you and your entire team of dv experiences for bringing us all together in such a magical way and making this weekend truly unforgettable.

I will remember this forever.

For the March 2025 edition of Wayward, in celebration of Lisa Rose's 50th birthday, we decided to have a techno-forward Wayward! I got to open up the room for OGAN (DeMentha), Lisa Rose, and Friedlander (who closed out with a 90 minute set). The energy in the room was electric right through to the end when the lights came on! After a short delay, we are finally able to present the long-awaited podcast by Niki Sadeki. A companion from the very beginning of our project.

Her deep, tribal-like sound is incredibly hypnotic. Sometimes it's even mystical. Sometimes spooky, but always a sound that makes you want to dance. Perfect for an after-hours session, in our opinion. The mix they recorded for us is excellent and bursts with creativity and a love of the little things. The first ten minutes alone are worth listening to, taking you straight into another world.

Wauwww, it has been a couple of weeks ago since the 5 year anniversary party of @wolvenroedelpresents but I am still dreaming about this one. Everything came together during this amazing sunset set. The music, the dancers, the sun ❤️ Thank you @djednoodle and @yondi_music for the trust to warm up the party with a longer slot. This really helps to build a story. I started sunny and easy with some Afro beats and slowly build up to some more dark and groovy beats. And with an amazing crowd everything comes together.  It was my first Fusion, definitely not the last. One of the most inclusive, affordable, sustainable and badass events I had a chance to see. The level of creativity, the quality of sound systems, the absence of authority or security, yet the feeling of safety and community. An impressive and powerful sonic city that shows us how the world can be when we work for a greater purpose, together, with strong values. 

This set represents a lot for me, after quite an heart opening trip in Beirut, Lebanon right before Fusion, getting closer to the war opened my eyes to the energies, challenges and times we are living in, while being fuelled and inspired by the beautiful resilience of people. ❤️

The dancefloor as a revolution. Music as a way to heal. The community as a foundation to rebuild the world from the heart space. 🌍   Gratitude to the Sonnendeck crew for the invitation, to everyone who came to dance for the morning session, and big love to old and new friends who made this journey memorable.

Yaz is a San Francisco-based DJ who enjoys playing tech house, deep tech, minimal, and techno. He is an active member of the Burning Man community and underground house/techno community in San Francisco.

Yaz has played all over San Francisco at all the major venues, including Public Works, Mighty / The Great Northern, Monarch, Midway, and Halcyon. He was a resident DJ at the venerated Wish Lounge for 5+ years, running his monthly Wayward party right up until the pandemic caused Wish to close. Once it was safe to do so, he has taken Wayward to its new home F8 Nightclub, and has been a resident there since August 2021. 

Yaz has collaborated with many different promoters and labels, and has opened and closed for (or shared billing with) well-known artists including John Digweed, Bob Moses, The Scumfrog, Tommy Four Seven, John Monkman, Technasia, and Marques Wyatt, to name a few.

His love for Burning Man is only rivaled by his love for music. His styles go from deep tech, minimal and techno to indie dance. You can find him on the playa playing for his camp DeMentha, and everywhere else for The Janky Barge, Airpusher, and Icarus. Yaz has also participated in many fundraisers in San Francisco for the aforementioned camps, as well as DISTRIKT, Mayan Warrior, the Salty Jacks, and others.
