We had a great vibe, turnout & tunes at a special Friday Wayward edition in F8's front room. Thanks to all the DJs on the roster. Thanks to all the F8 staff. Thanks to our host Yaz! Hope to do it all again soon!

I had a pretty good idea of what @justynmyers would spin before me, and I definitely knew what @oganic would throw down after me, so I attempted a selection of songs that would create a nice dovetail. 2025-01-17 Live at Wayward

What a way to start off the new year! For January 2025, Wayward did a rare Friday front room takeover at F8, and we started the year off with a bang! Our extended lineup consisted of Xyme, Justyn Myers, Adam Iko, OGAN, and yours truly, then we finished off the night with a little B2B session between OGAN and Yaz (left out of this recording -- by that point OGAN was still on point, but I was half DJ half mezcal)... All the homies came out of the woodwork, the dancefloor was packed, and I'm still smiling thinking about it 2 weeks later!

Ghosts, goblins, guys, gals, and ghouls, here is my closing set from Wayward: Phantasm! Recorded live at F8 SF on October 16 2025, our spooky shenanigans were off the charts! I got to follow some great sets by Saint Frank (FREQ Music), Adam Iko (Salty Jacks), and DJ Cira (Adult Services), and closed out the night with a little dark thump (and a sprinkling of evil)... Wayward: Phantasm // October 2025

Still buzzing from last weekend’s Burning Man Decompression at The Loom in Oakland. The amount of energy that goes into making this event happen is just incredible. All of the builders, artists and crowd brought their A-game and you could feel that energy in every corner of the space.

It was an amazing day on all fronts. The art installations were stunning, the people were glowing, and it was such a joy to walk around, see so many familiar faces, and get a little taste of the playa again after a few months. I loved seeing so many kids there too, and it was special to bring Kaya along for his second decompression.

There were so many highlights throughout the day and closing out the DeMentha x Sound Garden stage with my Irish bro Oliver was the perfect way to end it all. Huge shout out to everyone who helped create this magical day. Can’t wait for the next Burn and hopefully another decompression at The Loom because that place really had something special!

Wayward // November 2025

Time for a true classic.

During the pandemic in 2021, I revisited one of trance history’s most exceptional classics: B.B.E.’s “7 Days & 1 Week.” But instead of going uplifting or nostalgic, I took it somewhere deeper and darker with pulsating 133 bpm hypnotic techno trance vibe.

I wanted to keep the original’s atmosphere intact, but translate that longing into something more mechanical, introspective, isolated, the way that time felt back in 2021.

This version was never intended for release. It lived only in my private playlists and today it finally escapes the archive.

Yaz is a San Francisco-based DJ who enjoys playing tech house, deep tech, minimal, and techno. He is an active member of the Burning Man community and underground house/techno community in San Francisco.

Yaz has played all over San Francisco at all the major venues, including Public Works, Mighty / The Great Northern, Monarch, Midway, and Halcyon. He was a resident DJ at the venerated Wish Lounge for 5+ years, running his monthly Wayward party right up until the pandemic caused Wish to close. Once it was safe to do so, he has taken Wayward to its new home F8 Nightclub, and has been a resident there since August 2021. 

Yaz has collaborated with many different promoters and labels, and has opened and closed for (or shared billing with) well-known artists including John Digweed, Bob Moses, The Scumfrog, Tommy Four Seven, John Monkman, Technasia, and Marques Wyatt, to name a few.

His love for Burning Man is only rivaled by his love for music. His styles go from deep tech, minimal and techno to indie dance. You can find him on the playa playing for his camp DeMentha, and everywhere else for The Janky Barge, Airpusher, and Icarus. Yaz has also participated in many fundraisers in San Francisco for the aforementioned camps, as well as DISTRIKT, Mayan Warrior, the Salty Jacks, and others.
