love @ first line is a site-specific public artwork by Anna Sergeeva that encircles YBCA’s architecture with the first lines of love poems written across centuries and translated into the official tongues of San Francisco. This audio component is the space between these lines of love, woven together in collaboration with artists Miel Esperanza Alegre, Kenny Ng, and Javier Saavedra.

Description: Youth Speaks is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young people through spoken word poetry, literary arts education, and youth leadership programs. With a mission to create safe and brave spaces for young people to find their voice and express themselves, the organization has become a transformative force in the lives of countless young people in the Bay Area and across the nation. In celebration of National Poetry Month, the editorial team at Artist Power Center has selected Youth Speaks as our Featured Partner for the month of April.
