The latest installment of our free download series welcomes Onurcan Kaya with his take on ‘Massive’ by Drake. The Turkish artist first emerged in 2021 with a release via 4or Records, a release which would make him a name to watch in the world of melodic house and techno. The next two calendar years would see Onurcan add Astral Records, Melodic Room and VTOPIΛ to his resume, in turn earning support from Fideles, Kevin de Vries, Øostil and Tale Of Us, among others. Also an accomplished DJ, Onurcan has been a fixture of his country’s nightlife of late, programming music for some of Turkey’s trendiest venues. A recent highlight of Onurcan’s sets has been his much requested rendition of Drake’s ‘Massive’. As the second single from the Canadian hiphoper’s 2022 album ‘Honestly, Nevermind’, the track would go on to achieve critical and commercial success, ultimately peaking at #2 in the UK dance charts and #11 on Billboard’s Electronica Hot Dance. Our final free download of the year finds Emi Galvan and D-Nox joining forces for a much-anticipated rework of Underworld’s ‘Dark & Long’. Argentinean DJ and producer Emi Galvin has consistently defied expectations throughout his much-lauded decade-long career. Through the success of early tracks like 2016's ‘Taking Over’ and ‘Universe’, the Buenos Aires resident emerged into one of the progressive scene’s most promising talents. A rich musical background with time spent in rock bands playing guitar and singing gave Emi’s electronic compositions a measurable creative edge. This elusive sound did not go unnoticed as he quickly earned the praise of genre tastemakers Cid Inc, Eelke Kleijn, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren; while landing career defining releases via Balance, Sudbeat and The Soundgarden. Meanwhile, hailing from Germany but now based in Brazil, D-Nox has continued to thrill fans with both cutting edge music and enlightening DJ sets. Whether operating in solo capacity or as one half of D-Nox and Beckers, the German artist lays claim to an impressive resume, highlighted by releases on Bedrock, Einmusika, Sudbeat and his own Sprout imprint. Having previously worked together for Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank imprint, Emi and D-Nox also took to re-imagining Underworld’s ‘Dark & Long’ earlier this year. Now over thirty years old, the Original version was the lead track on the British band’s third and most critically acclaimed album ‘dubnobasswithmyheadman’. As a favourite of Sasha, Digweed and a host of other A-list DJs, there are few productions which have stood the test of time in a more enduring fashion. Ending the year on high note, we’re thrilled to offer Emi and D-Nox’s much requested ‘Dark & Long’ interpretation as a free download. Enjoy.

After running Dennis Ferrer's Objektivity imprint, touring on the international DJ circuit and building an impressive portfolio of remixing credits and collaborative releases over many years, André Hommen is now spreading his wings as a fully-fledged ar- tist.

'Introspectral', his third solo release, show- cases a producer who has fine-tuned his talents over a long period of time and - as the portmanteau title suggests - both reflected intensely and explored a broad spectrum of sounds.

The aquatic bass pulses of the title track, topped with cycling loops, surging drones and melancholy chords, paves the way for a dancing riff that will surely have hands re- aching for the air. With its textbook builds and sweeping dynamics, it's an impeccably rendered and dazzlingly hypnotic groove.

On the more introspective, bass-heavy Dub, Hommen weaves a web of gritty arpeggios and chiming synths whose intricacy is un- veiled in a long, beatless breakdown.

Last up, the writhing sub bass and Mor- se code pings of 'Centrifuge' cast an air of Hitchcockian menace: prelude to a cre- scendo of bright synths and blinding light as the machine revs up to maximum velocity.

Kevin Di Serna makes his Lost & Found debut here with two gorgeous tracks. Montreal artist @Kora-musique takes the next steps for recently launched New York label Earthly Delights, an imprint centred on spotlighting talents pushing the boundaries of electronic blends. The Canadian producer and DJ picks up the mantle from Yor Kultura, who provided the labels first release in a three tracker titled 'Odyssey'. Kora comes to the label after the well received 'Nuit D'Afrique' and 'Ovo' on Kindisch in November. He treats Earthly Delights to two original cuts in 'Fragile' and 'Vayu'. The pair have already seen much support  from the likes of Acid Pauli, Hernan Cattaneo, Oliver Schories, as well as heavy rotation on the playa. White Ocean founder Timujin supplies the remix action, reworking his own top notch version of 'Fragile'. Today, we're very excited to present to you in full premiere 'Fragile' in its original mix. This is an incredibly emotive cut, which fuses two distant worlds in one exquisite concoction. Arabesque came out exactly 10 years ago. 

When released in 2007 the EP went for the most part unnoticed - a lesson learned to always choose your labels wisely. However eventually Arabesque found its way into Luciano's crate and it became an end of night anthem for him. He would include it on his Fabric mix. 

This EP has been unavailable for a few years. For the 10th anniversary I've given the two original tracks from the EP a fresh mixdown. In arrangement and feel they are virtually unchanged.

This is a challenging time for everyone but I want to try to focus on the positives. Regardless of race, gender or age we are all being impacted by this Pandemic. Perhaps it can be a time where we break down some barriers and work together on a higher level to overcome this hardship. 

I think it is our job as musicians to keep making music and attempt to provide hope and positivity. One song can completely change a person’s outlook on life and we need that more than ever now. 

I will be doing lots of streaming over the next few weeks, both of studio sessions and of djing but today I will be giving away two of the remixes I did over this past year as free downloads.

Stylo and Space Motion, two of our current favorite producers join forces for a massive EP in Be Again / Last Siren.

With a strong vocal theme the track 'Be Again' leads the A side of the EP. An infectious rolling bass line sets the mood for all the atmospheres that surround it, with hypnotic melodies and well defined ambiences putting its listeners in a total state of inner trance.

On the B side of this EP Stylo and Space Motion bring total darkness with 'The Last Siren'. A powerful and groovy bass line brings the cadence while the super elaborate fx and drum work define this track into a one of kind. But the cherry on top of this record is definably the melodies that echo a siren sound as the title of the track suggests, simply genius.

James Solace, otherwise known as UK house stalwart, Burnski, delivers a bumper packed EP for Richy Ahmed’s Four Thirty Two imprint, inviting a host of remixers, namely Jansons, East End Dubs, and VONDA7, to the party! 

Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations label, Sasha’s Last Night On Earth, and Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep In Sound have already been platforms for Solace’s exquisite productions, and on ‘Setting Sun’ / ‘The Light’, we’re treated to more underground goodies from the British producer.

‘Setting Sun’ goes in with one of those Resse style basslines and a stammering melody that efficaciously unfurls to great effect, and has been one of the biggest and most requested tracks in Ahmed’s sets over the last couple of months, whilst the chugging pace of ‘The Light’ becomes intensified with an amalgam of arpeggiated synths, pad sweeps, and esoteric samples.

Jansons tackles ‘The Light’ with a breezy and warming remix, whilst East End Dubs carves out a swinging beats re-working of ‘Setting Sun’, which VONDA7 also injects some technocentric power into.

Here we have one strong release, where beside beautiful proggy original, we have remixes from renowned artists such as LADS and Allies For Everyone! Half German, half South African project LADS, started releasing music few years ago, and with their versatile, deep and progressive sounds, they attracted the attention of major labels such as Lost & Found, Rebellion Der Traumer, Click Records, etc. Alias For Everyone, however, is on the scene for a while now. He cooperated with the names such as Miyagi, Solee, Just Her, David Hasert, and released music on Lost Diaries, SOSO, EIN2, which is a testament to his quality work and dedication.

EDGE begins their 2020 journey with a much-anticipated collaboration from Hermanez and Eran Aviner. Hailing from Belgium and making his label debut is Hermanez. Initially known for his timeless, tech-soul productions on Mobilee Records, Noir Music and Suara, the Genk resident has enjoyed a career renaissance in recent years, remodelling his sound with deeper, more musical and wonderfully organic leanings. It's a shift that has landed him releases on the movement's premiere imprints, most notably All Day I Dream, Lost & Found, Shanti Radio Moscow and TRYBESof. Also laying claim to an impressive discography is EDGE co-founder Eran Aviner. The Belgian artist has showcased his music on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music and Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records, while also being regarded as one of his country's most astute DJs. Having worked together once previously on a chart topping remix for Sound Avenue, Hermanez and Eran now present their debut EP via EDGE entitled 'Arias'.

Beginning what promises to be a fruitful year for both artists are the pure progressive sensibilities of 'Aria'. Captivating from the start, it's perfectly sculpted beats are warm and powerful, anchoring what is a rippling, free flowing foundation. Crafted with precision and care, layers of hypnotic percussion are blanketed with textural drifts, ghostly pads and fragmented melodies. Intrigue peaks as the main break unfolds, with hazy harmonic concepts and metallic melodies uniting for an exhilarating crescendo, before ushering in a groovy drop and hypnotic finale.

The journey continues with the reflective moods of 'Storyteller'. Nicely tied to the ethos of the EP, Hermanez and Eran marry haunting vocal refrains with meditative rhythms and tranquil textures. It's a spiritual and highly engaging storyboard, perhaps the EP's most impassioned in fact, a creation for the road home and no doubt a highly memorable selection for your dance floor.

The release is capped off in fine fashion with the chunky vibes of 'First Touch'. Immediately compelling, it's shapely bass tones and dynamic percussion play off a robust rhythmic core, making for a smooth, hip swinging groove. Its musical appeal grows subtly, as pixie-like motifs and luminous tones add an emotive slant to what is an already magical storyboard. Expertly timed, it's chugging energy melts down into a break of effervescent lines and shifty harmonics, building into a wall of melodic colour, before getting washed away in a rush of beats and percussion for a charming third movement. Groovy and emotive in equal measure, it rounds out what is an exceptional collection of music from Hermanez and Eran, one which sees the duo's creative synergy continue to grow.
