This is my contest winning entry for The Womp's DJ contest 2024.

I made this mix with day time/early evening grooves in mind. The sort of time when you can sit with a bevvy or a smoke and nod your head or get up on the dancefloor and shake your booty!

I had a great time picking these tracks out and putting together a mix that I hope you all groove away to!

Passage (better known in the community as Whitney Caine) is an emerging DJ and producer from Edmonton, Canada. Making connections on the decks as much as she does on the dance floor, her sound creates balance with paradox -- sustained by a foundation of deep bass and rolling breaks.

Whitney is an ever-growing representative of the Umbral Sound System crew, including the host and curator of Umbral’s monthly mix series on Sub FM. As diverse as she is cohesive, Passage juxtaposes grimey and ethereal elements, her underground tastes infused with a pop sensibility all her own.

From a galaxy far away, Cyncron landed on earth with a mission to spread love with the power of bass vibrations.

Mason Jay, a self-proclaimed audio addict, crafts upbeat and eclectic sets that will transport you to the dancefloor, drawing from all frequencies of house music. He spent two years living in London, England, where he joined Music Box Radio as a resident and launched his show ‘The Landing Pad’. In London, he blossomed as a DJ, playing for crowds across the capital, including a residency with Disco Jukebox in East London.

Mason spends considerable time as a promoter as the man behind Stay Vigilant Productions (SVP). SVP (founded by him) is a local production company intent on elevating Calgary’s electronic music scene by creating opportunities for new artists, and providing unique pop-up events for the community. He has brought headline DJs to Calgary from across the country including Sydney Blu, Joses, and Hatiras. 

Career highlights include opening for Crusy, Hatiras, Esette, and Paul Brandt. Mason has also been the Official DJ of the Calgary Canucks since 2024.
