Prelude 3 (B) is speech-like, inspired by how rap manipulates rhythm. Triplets, poly rhythms and syncopation play into the contemporary style. The climax around bar 28 is lots of fun. Réflexions sur un après-midi européen is Akiva David's first symphonic composition in neoclassical style. The six movements are a sweeping orchestral journey through the elegance, melancholy, and romance of continental life.
