Adrián Albaladejo Díaz (1993, Alicante) has been living in Basel since 2015 and he is particularly involved in the contemporary music life in Switzerland and regularly works around Europe as a versatile brass player.

Adrián has performed with Les Trombone de Balè (CH), Basel Sinfonietta (CH), Divertimento Ensemble (IT), IEMA Ensemble (DE), Ensemble Diagonal (CH), Ensemble Courage (DE), Crossing Lines Ensemble (ES), der gelbe klang (DE), Ensemble Morph (DE) and Latenz Ensemble (CH), among others, and has participated in chamber music productions at Theater Basel.

He is responsible for commissioning more than 80 compositions written for him as a soloist as well as for their premiere at renowned festivals, including Lucerne Festival (CH), Zeiträume Basel (CH), Warsaw Autumn (PL), Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (UK), Musik 21 Festival (DE), Ensems (ES), Sampler Sèries (ES), Gaudeamus Muziekweek (NL), Klangspuren Schwaz (AT), Impuls (AT), Ars Braemia Music Festival (CH), PHONOS (ES), Sirga Festival (ES), Rondò in Monferrato (IT), Rondò a Bobbio (IT), and Tuns Contemporans Biennale für Neue Musik Graubünden (CH).

A professional enrichment for him was the personal collaboration with the composers: Stefano Gervasoni, Salvatore Sciarrino, Sofia Gubaidulina, Franck Bedrossian, Peter Ablinger, Beat Furrer, Vinko Globokar and Nuño Fernández Ezquerra.

In 2020, he founded Duo Signal with the saxophonist Alejandro Oliván, dedicated to the exploration and diffussion of new repertoire. He is founding member of the ensemble KlangLab Basel, which focuses on the creation of new scenic musical works through close collaboration with composers and he is a guest member of the renowned Swiss ensemble Ö!, which is entirely dedicated to contemporary music. In the field of artistic direction and organization, he has been working for the Swiss Music Association Concerts at Ausserberg since 2021.

At the age of 11, he began his euphonium studies with Jose Antonio Mira Ñíguez at the conservatory in Almoradí and at the same time played in the brass band of his village Bigastro. In Barcelona, he completed with distinction a Bachelor's degree (2011-2015) in euphonium and tuba with Pablo Fernández at the Escuela Superior de Música de Cataluña, at the same time taking additional studies in historical trombone interpretation with Simeon Galduf and private lessons with euphonium soloist Pep Burguera. From 2015-2017 he studied in the master's programme Performance on Trombone and Euphonium at the Musik Akademie Basel with Mike Svoboda (trombone) and David LeClair (tuba and euphonium) and was supported in 2016 by the Lyra Foundation, the Doms Foundation and the Haiku Foundation, among others. After 2017, he continued his studies at the Musik Akademie Basel in chamber music (2020-2021) with Anton Kernjak and contemporary music as part of the Zone Experimentale Basel (2018-2019) led by Marcus Weiss, Jürg Henneberger and Mike Svoboda.

Adrián has been awarded several prizes in competitions, including 2nd prize at Juventudes Musicales Spain, the Anna Riera Foundation Prize and 1st prize at the 2014 AETYB International Competition at the Spanish Congress for Euphonium and Tuba.
