Asante Amen, born Gavin Walters, is a Reggae singer/songwriter. Asante Amen has performed all across Jamaica, the United States of America, England, Italy, the Bahamas and Grenada. These accomplishments however are just the beginning for him as he has his sights locked on carrying his music & message all over the world.

Asante has collaborated on tracks with artists such as Lutan Fyah, Jah Thundah, Leaf of Life and Dean Fraser, plus may more. He has also shared the stage with notable Reggae acts such as Luciano, Ken Boothe, Beenie Man, Tarrus Riley, and Kabaka Pyramid to name a few. 

In 2011 Asante enjoyed a one month stay on the KDVS 90.3 FM Reggae/African Top 25 album chart in California, USA at the beginning of that year with his EP release: OVER THE YEARS. That same year he released a full length album with the same title. It was a free download digital release, which helped to increase his following and proved to be a major confidence booster for the rising Spiritual Reggae artist. Asante has received attention, both locally and internationally, for songs such as: Only Ras Tafari, Real Revolutionary, Mek Mi Rich, I’m Sorry, Praises and Wipe Your Tears; however the best is yet to come.

For 2016 Asante is just focused on making good music. He is currently putting the final touches on album, that should be released later this year; the title of it being, Chapter. It will contain 12 tracks and will be released by Boom One Records, based in North Carolina, USA. In addition to the album, Asante is also working on a number of other singles and projects; so fans and lovers of good Reggae music can be on the lookout for new music from this talented artist.

             "Always the Art First"

In an era where genre mash-ups and hybrid music are becoming commonplace, it may be difficult for the seasoned aficionado to really be startled, or positively moved by new music.
But such is the case with the "Rootstronic" offering of The Courtney John Project. Since 2013's "Future", Courtney John founder and lead singer, admittedly more well-known in Jamaican music circles for a more conventional lovers rock (though "Lucky Man" from his "Made in Jamaica" disc, placed in Axe/Lynx UK campaign, Jon Favreau critically acclaimed “Chef” and Julianne Moore’s “Still Alice”) has been unabashedly taking Jamaican music into a more global theatre of ideas, with results that are causing folks on all sides to take note.
This kind of "global-local" duality is in fact nothing new for the singer-partly schooled overseas, (Canada) but still very much in touch with his rural St Mary roots. "I grew up in much the same way doing the same things as all my peers, but i also had the opportunity to experience a different culture, a more cosmopolitan outlook where it isn't just one set of beliefs that prevail." 
Through the Rootstronic project, John has vibrantly linked Jamaica’s glorious (if somewhat fading) musical past and its gritty origins with today’s technological advances springing from the fast-paced ethos of the developed world.
The interplay between these forces is brilliantly captured in the latest single and video "Live a Blast”. The sonic density very much in evidence from John on the previous set, has been transmuted (note: not eliminated) into a more calibrated intensity. John's trademark near breathless falsetto cuts unapologetically through - basically in step with a minimalist keyboard signature that is re-stated until the other elements creep in and the whole sonic vehicle gathers momentum towards the more "tronic" part of the expression. 
Similarly, the video for Live A Blast continues what for John is a fast-building tradition of snappy narrative treatments (see the aforementioned "Lucky Man" and also "Rain Like Gold") that have multiple visual dimensions and references and feature not established TV or film personalities, but regular people. "The point of the story in this video,” he points out "is to show that we don't have to allow our origins or circumstances to limit us. More than that, if we really consider it right, our beginnings have a lot of the key to a better life - as I state in the song the future's in the past."
Initial response to the Live A Blast record is already vibrant, and John who by his own admission has been extremely prolific, is looking to similarly be busy over the next few months. "I am inspired by all that is around me. It’s just that the types of songs like Live A Blast with a particular kind of message is what I've been dominantly hearing."
And though he never writes from a demographic or market-driven point of view, one can argue that with increasing chaos in all forms around the world, there has never been a more ideal time for the kind of uplifting message that Live A Blast offers. There is much interest in Europe, especially in France, but also in the more conventional markets and from as far afield as Australia. 
And, as his network broadens, John says fans can expect the musical forays to become even less inhibited, more textured, and indeed, more personal. "I recently did a project in France; it was really some next-level terrestrial kinda stuff. We always looking for the opportunity to re-form and reconstruct and build on what is. Rootstronic is just a more modern interpretation of reggae/dub music, influenced by EDM that represents Jamaica.”

Reggae Rajahs are India's first reggae sound system. The crew of DJs and MCs are reggae entertainers and promoters based out of New Delhi. Formed in 2009, they have dedicated themselves to spreading the sounds of dub, reggae and dancehall music across India. 

They frequently perform at venues throughout the country and have played at festivals such as Sunburn Festival (Goa), SulaFest (Nashik), Enchanted Valley Carnival (Lonavala), Escape Festival (Naukuchiatal) and Ragasthan (Jaisalmer). They host and curate their own stage at the NH7 Weekender Festival called the ‘Dubstation’.

Reggae Rajahs have opened for Snoop Dogg aka Snoop Lion in New Delhi and have also shared the stage with a number of established international artists such as Dub Inc. (France), Million Stylez (Sweden), Ziggi Recado (Holland), Tippa Irie, Apache Indian, Mr. Williamz, Brother Culture, Soom T, Deadly Hunta, Mungo's HI Fi, Gaudi, Dub Phyzix (all UK), Supa Bassie & Sargento Garcia (Spain), Subatomic Sound, South Rakkas Crew (both USA) and Dreadsquad (Poland) amongst others.

In 2013, Reggae Rajahs started their own online weekly radio show called Pressure Drop on Radio79.com and also made their second appearance on the European tour circuit, performing at major festivals such as Rototom Sunsplash (Spain), Sziget Festival (Hungary), Outlook Festival (Croatia), Uprising Reggae Festival (Slovakia) and Ostroda Reggae Festival (Poland).

Reggae Rajahs has now become a truly international sound with DJ MoCity representing the crew in Dubai, Kuala Lumpur and Istanbul, BeLights in Malta and Diggy Dang, General Zooz and Ziggy B in New Delhi.

When Jesse Royal was only a cub, the Lord revealed to his mother that she would have to release one of her sons to the world, proclaiming “he will be a psalmist, declaring righteousness and justice throughout creation.” As Jesse matured into a young lion, his mother observed in him a strong sense of integrity and a natural ability to positively affect those around him. But, it was his deep spirituality, passion for life and unique connection to music that would convince her that he was being molded to be used by the Creator. 

Jesse David Leroi Grey, aka Jesse Royal, was born April 29, 1989. He enjoyed his early years in the hills of Maroon Town and the District of Orange in St. James before moving in the late 90’s with his mother and brother to join his father in Kingston. As fate would have it, Royal developed a special relationship with Daniel ‘Bambaata’ Marley (son of Ziggy Marley) at school. His friendship with Daniel proved to be fuel to the fire as they shared a deep passion for music and football. Their friendship evolved as they spent a great part of their childhood together. Soon the natural inclination confirmed they were simply brothers with different mothers. As these cubs became lions so grew their devotion to music. With the help of longtime friend Curt ‘Qban’ White they began composing and creating their own music. And together they proceeded to fulfill what they knew was a predestined musical journey, designed to inspire, engage and unite people beyond all geographic borders. 

After Jesse returned home from schooling abroad, he reestablished a relationship with high school friend and young producer Kareem ‘Remus’ Burrell (son of Philip ‘Fatis’ Burrell). They began creating and composing music together also, which developed into a Movement as they shared similar views on the social state of Jamaica. 

Blessed with a voice that captures the pain and hunger of a ‘downtrodden’ people; Royal’s militant character and profound lyricism caught the heart of heralded reggae producer, Philip ‘Fatis’ Burrell. Fatis Burrell, affectionately called ‘Father’ had a great and pure impact on the ‘old soul’ of Jesse; as he credits him as an invaluable inspiration and one of the most influential individuals that he has ever encountered.

Working with musicians such as Sly Dunbar, Robbie Shakespeare, Donald Dennis, Earl ‘Chinna’ Smith and Monty Savory; Jesse is currently in the studio putting the final touches on his debut album with producer Kareem Burrell of the XTM.Nation. Jesse Royal has released three mixtapes , Misheni, In Comes The Small Axe and Royally Speaking with Major Lazer. His Debut Album "Lily of The Valley" is now available on all digital platforms.
