耶YE斯SI巴BA used the lockdowns of the past two years to withdraw to the studio and work on new songs. After the singles «Pain & Suffering» and «Cheers My Dears» in 2020 the first full-length album «Once Upon A Time» is being released in 2022.

Whereas the previous releases sounded very electronic, the new album contains several piano ballads and features a lot of guitars. But still Moogs, modular synths and vocoders define the characteristic sound of the album and are the base of that 耶YE斯SI巴BA signature sound.

Die Combo aus Darmstadt ist stark vom Sound der 80er Jahre beeinflusst. Die Musik basiert auf einem analogen elektronischen Sound, wird aber durch die Kombination mit traditionellen akustischen Instrumenten und zerbrechlichem bis dreckigem Gesang auf eine neue Ebene gehoben.

Kasper Bjørke’s upcoming mini-LP ‘Fountain of Youth’ bends genres such as classic house, electro, post disco and techno, into his own melting pot of late night jams - created entirely for the dance floors. It´s Kaspers joyous return to clubland, after focusing his previous album productions on song oriented compositions, suitable for home listening rather than the clubs. We can´t wait to share it with you!

Before that, ‘Cloud 9’, leading single from ‘Fountain of Youth’ is arriving with a remix package, as always handpicked by Kasper himself.

‘Cloud 9’ comes in two original versions: An instrumental version, that with its dreamy analoge OB-8 pads, haunting melancholic bell theme and 808 breakbeats surely will take you back in time. The vocal mix features Urdur from Icelandic band GusGus. Urdur delivers an infectious hookline, with a clear reference to the 90s vocal house scene.

Weval, soon to release their debut album on Kompakt, provides a stunning and brilliantly different take on the original, refocusing the vibe into a shuffling, lo-fi jam, complete with their signature sampled, pitched vocal bits.

The Italian duo Marvin & Guy, known for their jams on John Talabots Hivern Discs and most recently on Correspondant Records, brings a beefy, chugging Italo vibe to their main version with a classic arpeggio synth anthem. Marvin & Guy’s Dub Remix is pushing the simmering melodies into a dreamy climax - and is a sure shot for the open air sunset slots this summer.

耶YE斯SI巴BA goes beyond political correctness 

On the musical side, the new release sounds positively old school in the expected YE SI BA signature sound – a mixture of Electronica, Electro Pop, EBM and Chip Tune. Lyrically “Agitation & Propaganda” seems to be influenced by today´s world politics and the attitudes of certain statesmen. We are confronted with nightmares, alternative facts and other sad cases. 

Fortunately there is a ray of light at the end of the EP: Last year´s single “The Lord of the Board” advises us not to take it all too seriously, but to “grab your board and go for a ride”…

Back Catalogue

YE SI BA´s first EP "Amor + Psyche" was released in 2005. It was re-released in late summer 2015. 

 "The finest form of electro-pop with influences from Front 242 to Depeche Mode is offered by YE SI BA on the debut EP "amor + psyche". The six songs with their independent feeling will fascinate everyone - a vortex of dark feelings, but still with a ray of light."

 The 2nd EP "Red Forest" was released in 2011.

 "There it finally is! YE SI BA´s new EP starts like the soundtrack to an apocalyptic thriller. It continues with catchy tunes and potential hits.
 The combo with the Chinese name shows how electronic music made in Germany can sound: somehow like Depeche Mode before the guitar was invented…"

Preceding the new EP "Yes I Can", "Andy the Dandy" was released as a single in 09/2015. 

After the EPs "Amor + Psyche" and "Red Forest" YE SI BA releases the new EP "Yes I Can", featuring the single "Andy the Dandy" and 4 other tracks (02/2016). While the tracks of the previous releases had been dark and gloomy, "Yes I Can" shows the humorous side of YE SI BA. And it is a lot more club oriented: Electronic music with influences from italo disco, jazz, chip music and big beat. 
The style is a mixture of elegance and hipster!
