Vengeance Demo 2023

Vengeance is an orchestral composition that draws inspiration from William Shakespeare's timeless tragedy, Hamlet. Echoing the Baroque melodies of Henry Purcell and George Frideric Handel, it is a love piece crafted for the ethereal voice of the countertenor. 
Primed for collaborations with like-minded artists, Vengeance is envisioned as both a live performance and a music video—a fusion of classical tradition and contemporary storytelling.


Melody and lyrics by Yi Lin Zhao
Yi Lin Zhao is a Chinese-born artist and designer for theater and film based in Los Angeles. Experienced China in the 2000s and early 2010s, she was immersed in a rich tapestry of media from various cultures.  Her love for the classical stems from traditional fine art training and a brief study of piano, fostering a deep appreciation for Renaissance masters and Baroque operas.
Today, Yi Lin finds solace in stage performances and film – art forms that merge design, music, and performance art. Unwilling to confine her creativity, she thrives to create works that combine all the mediums she loves.

Arranged and edited by Chess Amadé
Chess Amadé Albaneze is a genderfluid, neurodivergent artist and self-taught composer living in Seattle with his partner and black cat. Chess composed a chamber opera through the Seattle Opera Creation Lab, where he and librettist Mirabai Kukathas created an original fable about a retired coalmine canary, critiquing the American healthcare system (Of A Feather, 2020-2021). Chess now composes for the podcast Dandies in Danger, a Regency Era queer and paranormal DND style show in which he also acts and occasionally DMs. He is also working on a comic book adaptation of James Washburn's Achilles and Patroclus in hand-painted ink and pencil. Chess is a huge horror fan, has been quoted as saying "There should be more horror operas," and enjoys the beauty of the grotesque. Many of his original ink paintings have been sat upon by his cat.
