very unusual and intense feel to it. slightly claustrophobic. stifled. very interesting

The feeling of oppressive heat is very well rendered. the rhythm makes you feel an urgency. These sad melodies. everything is so consistent with the title of this piece. It's superb.

Daily Drops

back when I was recording the John Denver song "Take Me Home, Country Roads" with the fine gentlemen in The Eclectic Collective, my 8 yr old daughter loved the song so much she began singing it ALL THE TIME. This is a quick little recording of her singing the chorus. Pretty amazingly expressive singing for a youngster if I do say so myself!

I love summer. The temperature and humidity make you sweat even if you stay still. The sun illuminates all the shadows that we would like to hide, both in landscapes and in people. That summer, people began to suffer from abnormally high temperatures. It is no longer a summer of memories, but a summer of ``heartache.'' I can't stand summer.
The song is a rambling expression of summer, and fragments of my anger ooze out.

Sad to say my trips to 'The Headstone' on Sheffield's Hallam Moor have been curtailed by my arthritic knees. But...I can see my old friend from afar and hope to commune with it one day.

I recently noticed a very talented musician with exceptional vocal abilities on Soundcloud. I liked her voice and I liked how she approaches different musical styles. So I thought how nicely her vocals would fit in my "Clouds". That's how the clouds got their angels.

This song is the brainchild of Artur, who composed it on his guitar perfectly for collaboration, and presented it to us with his vision for the entire sound. Ken went first, of course, adding his signature rocking beat to the song. I went next, as soon as Ken had laid down the drums, adding my four string fretless bass sound to fill out the rhythm section. 
  Tez came along soon after me, adding some foundational ornamentation with his guitar. JJ jumped in right after Tez, and laid in the majestic organ, riffing electric piano, and subtle synth you hear throughout. Finally, Stephen laid his guitar in there, too, which can be heard as a fiery melodic line running throughout. At Artur's suggestion, he also added some amazing, trippy sitar in a couple of spots, too.
  Once all the tracks were laid down, Stephen came through with his always skillful mix. This makes almost an album worth of material that The Eclectic Collective has created from Artur's ideas. We're always excited when he drops a new one in our laps. He wrote this on a sweet rainy day in the Polish summer. 
  We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Sweet Rainy Day (Eclectic Collective with Surfers Like Us)

This is another track in my work-in-progress album "Sleep, My Boy" (2024), to appear by the end of this year. In it, my idea is to collect only this and another already released track, "Sleep, My Boy", but each of them will have a full, electro-symphonic version as well as acoustic versions.

The track was composed in GarageBand iOS spontaneously in the early morning of 19 September 2024 and mixed and arranged in Logic Pro on 29 September 2024. It was released here on SoundCloud on 19 October 2024.

The composition was inspired by my recently-born gorgeous grandson, while he was far away from me for long, travelling with his family. Apart from this electro-symphonic version, it also has 3 "acoustic" versions - the initial one for piano and the subsequent ones, respectively, for strings and for synthesisers: I intend to post these versions too as tracks coming later in the same album.

The artwork cover for the track as well as for the album uses a photo I took on 3 July 2024 that I cropped and annotated in Mac OS Preview on 17 August 2024.

This song pines the need for humanity to fully embrace science and real reason especially in the face of modern political influence and it's relative lies and source as an insular disease for individuals.

Politics like anything is a science and with a humanity that embraces science first for everything which in my view it should, then we as individuals need to start reasoning the world properly from all sources... We can only then formulate opinions properly on important subjects and then we as individuals can see through the leaders that lie their way to political power. Only when we ourselves see our real truth (found with proper research and CRITICAL thought) do we see through the lies of others...
The disease is settling for one opinion that confirms your own bias that you want to be true because you believe it to be. That's not scientific. That's a cult
