"The more alarming of the two words in Some Villains’ name isn’t its noun. It’s that determiner “Some.” It implies that there’s a formidable current of evil out there, but these four Englanders are no cause for concern. Comparatively, they’re benign, operating somewhere between the borders of villainous and just. The band’s villainy is small cog in some nefarious machine hell-bent on churning out dismay and dread; they’re only a blip on the radar, the lesser of many, many evils. They’re just some villains, nothing more.

Formed in Nov 2012 as an occasional writing project, the Yodaclub songs that began to emerge were too good to leave in the dining room. Take Barry's original tunes and bittersweet lyrics - dripping with hooks, melody and big choruses - add his Fender licks, Roger's inventive bass lines, Karen's lush harmonies and Steve's rhythmic ingenuity and you've sequenced the Yodaclub DNA.

 Yodaclub's heritage is diverse; indie, alternative and pop, and like all good evolution none of that completely describes Yodaclub. If you like The Beatles, Radiohead, Star Wars, Doo-wop, Tremolo guitars, The Cribs, Iggy Pop, 'Spaced',The Ramones, Judd Apatow films, The Manics, Longpigs or 6 Music then take the Yodaclub sound test......
