Anyone familiar with the music of Sinisa Tamamovic knows the man is an expert in techno floor fillers. The tracks here are no exception; Valentina and Confused reside in the world of bold, unrelenting grooves constructed with little more than bass and drums: and they get the job done. The bass lines are distinctly Sinisa; simple, catchy, and mixed exquisitely, they take on a whole new attitude when played on club systems.
Valentina starts things strong, its driving rhythm gaining energy as atmospheres develop and an otherworldly vocal enters, a Latin American street rhyme that gives the track some international flare. Confused is more raw, employing rough drums and ethereal sound effects. Either one will do the trick for peak hours and late nights, and expect to hear these all over the place at WMC 2016.

Returning to Yoshitoshi for the second of two monstrous EPs (but not their first for the label) is the Venetian duo Veerus & Maxie Devine with Walking On My Own.

The title track sports an infectious vocal hook and a roaring bass that takes dance floors by storm. Its driving groove makes for a big mid-set tune that has actually made audiences burst out singing by the end. 

Then there’s the B-side, Pick Up The First Apple, a beautifully spacey track filled to the brim with staccato blips and cavernous micro-melodies.

Prescription (feat. Eric Biddines)

Sinisa is back with two tracks that were basically designed for Ibiza 2016 sets.  The pulsing bass and calculated beats on this EP are just what we’ve come to expect from the Night Light records co-head.  Intense, driving techno for instant groove-gratification.  It’s a perfect follow up to his last EP for Yoshitoshi, Valentina/Confused, which graced the crates of some of techno’s finest.

The EP leads off with “Pain.”  An extremely tight groove and tense, rising sounds throughout make the record a fierce contender on the dance floor.  The way Sinisa’s kick and bass work together punch through subwoofers with tenacious consistency. 

That same consistency can be found on this EP’s B-side, “True Love,” but where “Pain” opts for a more straight ahead groove, “True Love” is a wilder ride with more frenetic energy.  The drums and sounds that drive this record feel less calculated, and the bass rides along in a decisive march that feels almost tribal and completely enveloping.
