We cruised to the trash fence for a Tuesday morning sunrise cruise on the @dusty-rhino-1 - a blissful adventure to watch the sun peak over the mountains in the Black Rock desert (and play music to the Burning Man marathon runners, lol)with a gathering of some of my favorite people.

Playing sunrise on an art car is always one of the most unique experiences I think you can create on playa – this was an absolutely surreal morning & I am so grateful. 

Hope you enjoy this set as much as I did playing it (and reliving it over and over in my head).

With a global upbringing, roots in San Francisco, & a current base in San Diego, Torie’s sound is eclectic to say the least. She interweaves elements of house, minimal, dark & driving techno, breaks, soulful vocals, soft melodies – & every now and then, some drum & bass – all to tell a story through sound. She believes in the power of groove, and plays with one goal in mind: to bring newfound life to the dancefloor.

As a core lead of Inquiry Collective, artist with Burning Man art cars ICARUS and Dusty Rhino, a resident DJ of You’re Welcome, and a co-founder of Dance With Haha, she draws inspiration from the dusty plains of the playa, the curious explorations of the Mojave desert, the underground dancefloors of SF, & the interstellar endeavors of ICARUS & its motley crew.

She has performed with KiNK, Superflu, Justin Martin, Overmono, Maya Jane Coles, Anja Schneider, Tale of Us, Patrice Baumel, Marbs, Mikey Lion, Porky and Evan Casey of Desert Hearts, Rinzen, Dance Spirit, Eskuche, Marques Wyatt, Tycho, KMLN, Sabo, Justin Jay, Hoj, Kevin Knapp, Shiba San, Joeski and more.
