So this is what happens when a band writes songs in a secluded cabin in the italian mountains and then takes these songs on a pub tour from Munich to Dublin and back. On the debut album “Farewell to Fate” (Release: Oct 11th 2013) one can almost feel the sweat and taste the beer that accompanied the song's journey. If there is one band that deserves a pint or two then it is Young Chinese Dogs. This band only plays acoustic instruments that they can carry with their own two hands to the gig. No more, no less.

'Great Lake State' - der Name ist Programm. Das zweite Album der YOUNG CHINESE DOGS verbindet zwei Welten, die den Sound der Band gleichermaßen beeinflusst haben. Auf der einen Seite stehen die unendlichen Landschaften Amerikas und der Ursprung des Folk & Country. Auf der anderen die Heimat der Wahlmünchner, die atemberaubende Natur und Großstadtfeeling zugleich bietet. Berge, Seen, Lagerfeuer, akustische Instrumente, aber auch rohe Beats und Texte, die das Leben schreibt. Dazu die einzigartigen Gesangsstimmen.
Der Sound der YOUNG CHINESE DOGS is opulenter geworden, öffnet sich neuen musikalischen Einflüssen, verrät aber dennoch nie seine Lagerfeuerwurzeln. 'Great Lake State“ bietet zwölf Songs, die abwechslungsreicher nicht sein könnten. Sexy Folk trifft auf schmutzigen Rock 'n' Roll, Hip-Hop paart sich mit Country, fröhliche Beats folgen auf melancholische Balladen. Doch eines haben sie alle gemeinsam: Jeder einzelne Song geht unter die Haut und lädt zum Mitsingen ein.
Das Album ist innerhalb der letzten zwei Jahre dort entstanden, wo sich die Band am wohlsten fühlt – on the road. Und genau da geht es auch weiter: Ab Oktober sind die YOUNG CHINESE DOGS mit 'Great Lake State' auf Tour.

Taking in the sights, sounds and smells of all these places and finding a feeling of home wherever I ended up by adapting, learning and listening to the way different people live has shaped the way I write and perform. This EP is the truest representation of my sound and songwriting that I have to offer.
