These persons have an appreciation, sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep loving concern.  This recording was a kind of soundtrack for that reunion.

We met again with bags full of records (some of them dusty), good company, fantastic food & wine in an unique adriatic surrounding.

the session starts or continues from 1 hand to another as Schwabe was playing a new production from baris K on a new label but we dont know much more than this, 
but we heard the track is really long so Traxx stepped up
to stay on the same slow vibe tempo you hear and brings
in his own music blueprint of a long play production for 
those who could believe that.
the disc jockey before had the track playing it for the 
early attendees but we used it to allow the journey to 
take flight thru the nite til very late the next day..

I hope you all enjoy my latest seasonal mix, this one in the last throws of winter. I made this mix while prepping to come to Australia, which I think came across in the song selection. I can feel the warmth of the sun and the first hint of springtime on the horizon.

This time he takes on the Slumber Session and packs in a tonne of unreleased exclusive material to deliver this beautiful, ethereal soundtrack to help you journey through your dreams. Take time, kick back, zone out and drift off. This one is special.

"This Slumber Session mix gave me a great opportunity to make a playlist of something I would want to listen to when unwinding, or to just fall asleep to. I wanted it to be able to exist in the background, without focus, whilst at the same time having elements of detail and beauty scattered amongst the layers of sound unravelling as the mix progresses.

In some ways you can think of it as a soundtrack to a dream. There are moments of calm flowing smoothly into more abstract sections. Textures build to go from sparse emotive landscapes to darker, brooding moments of tension. I wanted it to be dynamic, taking in a variety of styles and influences, whilst giving the listener a coherent experience and painting some interesting images in their minds.

It also gave me the chance to put in a lot of unreleased tracks of mine. I make a wide variety of styles outside of my normal output, so it was great to have an outlet for some of that material. There are also a lot of field recordings I've made over the last few years throughout the mix, including some from my travels. The opening section of music features the sounds of walks in Sydney and San Francisco, which at the time was just some subconscious grabbing of sound recordings without any kind of artistic purpose - it just sounded cool at the time. It seemed fitting when I realised where the sounds were from, as the mix would have been the perfect playlist for a lot of my sleep deprived travels.

I ended up getting so involved putting together this mix that there's a lot of live tweaks of outboard reverb and delay units layered on certain tracks to try and get the sense of space I wanted to achieve and give the mix some breathing space. I find that ambient music can be incredibly beautiful and achieve the range of emotions other music can. I hope that you enjoy the musical selection and can immerse yourself in it, even with the emphasis away from the hooks and rhythms of traditional electronic dance music."

As the sun crests and we all shed a layer or two, its hard not to feel like something is blooming and coming alive inside us. A day at the beach, or a night spent hiking to that special spot, there's something about the summer that brings back memories of simpler times and unencumbered experiences. That's what this mix is for, tugging yourself back to a simpler place and time. Maybe just for an hour we can forget about the bullshit we're dealing with and remember what it was like when all that mattered was the person you were with and what adventure was about to happen...

"To me, the following selection of music could be described as psychedelic, without making distinctions in genres or BPM’s. Some of these songs may be dream-inducing, some of them nightmare-inducing, but they all bring me a certain feeling of unreality, as if they were snapshots of altered landscapes or distorted memories. It can also be thought of as the soundtrack for an initiation to psychonautics. One way or another, it is music that I find deeply enjoyable no matter what altered state you're in."

@International-Feel label boss Mark Barrott found a tape called Songs For Sunsets in a charity shop in Paris and made it his mission to hunt down the unknown artist behind it, eventually tracking down Australian library composer Len Leise. Fast forward and Len is about to release another nature themed EP, Music For Forests, this time through International Feel (out 8th December) and not limited to cassette. The best slumber sessions do more than just let your mind wander, they take you away to another place entirely. This one does just that. Currently counting down the days until the release of Berlin collective Average Negative’s wondrous debut vinyl LP and art book, Shadow Mountain, we’re stoked to have a mix from the project’s Sydney-based synth-pop wizard Marco Vella. Slicker than your average snoozy slumber session, his mix sets your imagination free. It is a wild camping adventure that fast-forwards through time and lets you watch as day turns to night and lush green mountain forests alive with the sounds of panpipes and flutes turn into unexplored moonlit lands littered with cicadas. Things take a turn for the industrial as the daydreamers stumble on a secret government base and inadvertently involve themselves in some real sci-fi sounding shit before – as often happens in dreams – all danger melts away to the sounds of funky psychedelic bass-slapping. “I wanted to make a mix that showcased emerging artists from around the globe that have been an inspiration to my music and myself,” explains the Sydney producer. “I also added a few tracks from the archives that were a major influence to me at the time of recording Shadow Mountain. I hope this mix doesn’t bring on the z’s, but is ‘slumber’ enough to help you kick back and blow the froth off a couple.” Mission accomplished. Ukrainian pianist Lubomyr Melnyk has often felt that his unique Continuous Music playing is akin to water – flowing and ever connected. As he further developed his technique, and the more the notes flowed, the closer to water he felt. “I found my hands and arms and everything inside them changing from normal muscle and flesh to well... water.”

With his latest album, ‘Rivers and Streams’, Lubomyr focuses deeply on this connection to water, to the point where the music itself begins to embody its liquid form. Produced by Robert Raths and Jamie Perera, the album flows seamlessly from the live recordings of ‘The Pool of Memories’, captured in a church, to pieces entirely born in the studio, such as ‘Sunshimmers’ and ‘Ripples in a Water Scene’, which feature Perera on acoustic and electric guitar.

Amorphous, ever-changing, Lubomyr as performer becomes subsumed into the natural ebb and flow of the keys as the album drifts between nascent upstream trickles and deeply reflective passages through winding river valleys. The album reaches its climax in ‘The Amazon’, a 20-minute piece dedicated to the world’s largest river. Raths invited Korean flautist Hyelim Kim to guest on the first part, before Lubomyr closes the album with cascades of arpeggio figures, stretching across the breadth of the keyboard with rapid virtuosity.

Following on from 2013’s ‘Corollaries’ album and last year’s ‘Evertina’ EP, Lubomyr’s latest offering compounds upon his existing fluid signature style, and breathes an organic vitality, both nuanced and thoughtful. 

"In the body of the Continuous Piano Master, the fingers and the hands turn into Water, Air and Stone. These are the three manifestations of the Continuous Technique. And for the Continuous Pianist, the fingers physically transform the music into one of these three elements.

The greatest of all miracles in the universe is Water. It is also, I believe, the rarest of all physical things in the universe. Water is the most magical and the most mysterious of all things we know! And so I dedicate this album to the Rivers and Streams of this world – in gratitude for their Beauty!“ – Lubomyr Melnyk

The producer, real name Marco Sterk, first appeared on the Juno Plus radar with two EPs of spectral disco on his own, now defunct Hand Of God imprint back in 2010. However his talents were truly unveiled with last year’s beguiling Nonono 12” for the New York based ESP Institute label run by Lovefingers. Both the title track and “Darwin In Bahia” shimmered with a melodic warmth all too lacking from house music these days, and belied a predilection for sweet, minimalist percussion - not too dissimilar to what a Steve Reich house track might sound like.

This was preceded by an appearance on the Amsterdam All Stars compilation from Dutch imprint Rush Hour – where Marco works full-time as a designer – and an appearance on another Dutch label, Studio Soulrock, in collaboration with Tom Trago and Awanto 3. This year has seen Sterk settle down as a member of the ESP Institute family, first remixing Melbourne-based producer Michael Ozone's "Hetrotopia" to hypnotic effect, before returning last month with another solo outing, Video Days, which further demonstrated his ability to deliver music that doesn't quite fit into neat categories.
