Here is my edit of Kan Sano’s version of Roy Ayers ‘Everybody Loves The Sunshine’ for the Razor-N-Tape label out of NYC.
I have always been a massive fan of Roy Ayers so was excited to work on this.
Kan is a pianist and instrumentalist from Japan and this release also features versions from Grey Area, Luvless and Left Side Wobble.

I got the opportunity to officially remix this classic song to coincide with the release of a new Donny Hathaway box set. I was given the original multitrack master of the studio version (different from the live version)and it consisted of 8 different instrument and vocal tracks (as opposed to the more usual 24 tracks) 
When I take on a remix, my first goal is to make it work on a current dance floor. I like to stay very close to the originally recorded sound and In most case there's plenty to be reworked on the multitrack master to achieve this. 
This case proved a little different as there were few rhythm elements I could use to fit within current standards of club loudness levels. So I decided to take a slightly different approach, and add a new set of (acoustic) drums,  to bend the original Soul vibe a little towards Disco territory.

When I Think Of U [LNTG Rework]

No introduction needed for this soul train classic by Kool and The Gang. I have been messing with it for some time now trying to make a modern DJ friendly version and thought it would be nice to share. Initially I made the sorter 'hip cut' for me to play and mashup crossing over from soul and hip hop to disco but then I realized I could not do without the magical ARP synth solo so thus the 'extended version'. It took a while to tame and make it work and now here it is. Enjoy this fine piece of music and Merry Xmas peepz !
