I started with abalone's ticking clock and snapping fingers, and added some mechanical and organic textures at repeating intervals to make a sci-fi sounding track. The clock makes it suspenseful. Lots of sounds going on but there should be space to add some musical elements.

This is an unfinished composition, part 2 of a 3 part Disquiet Junto collaboration. Other Junto members may add their recordings to this part in the next few weeks to form a complete piece of music.

This is my version of David Bowies 'Space Oddity' with a twist. Major Tom starts hearing the Beatles singing in space. It's the first cover I've ever recorded/produced. It was for a cover song challenge on a song writers forum... just a bit of fun. It was certainly a challenge and I hope I haven't totally destroyed this amazing song.

Oddities in Space - cover

Red Rock Gorge Camp Ground in Sundown National Park, Queensland, beside the small dam at the Northern end, around midnight. Zoom F6, Rode NT55-MP with cardioid capsules, Rycote BBGs with wind jammers, ORTF. Three species of frog can be heard calling. I think they are: Striped Marsh Frog (Limnodynastes peronii, pok, ..., pok, ....), Smooth Toadlet (Uperoleia laevigata, creeek), and Eastern Dwarf Tree Frog (Litoria fallax, buzz like running a nail down a comb).
