Ambition is a quality that many artists give up when they are in a stable and comfortable situation - we have seen it in a multitude of producers, especially those who tend to headline more conventional festival line-ups. It is probably for this reason that we tend to praise those great artists who occasionally step out of their comfort zone and into other fields. In contemporary electronic music, however, there are avid artists who are not content with doing well in a particular field, but who aim to embrace as much as possible, and to make the most of their potential in other musical fields.

Mattia Prete is one of these multifaceted musicians, producers or artists, who understands that electronic music can be especially heterogeneous and very diverse, and that it can have influences of all kinds. Mattia has not invented anything because at this point everything has already been invented, but he is a producer committed to music. From his record projects Jazz-o-tech and Aurora he shows us that musical genres such as Jazz can be perfectly associated with advanced electronic music, experimental or dance music. 

Likewise, his qualities as a producer are just as exquisite as his work as a record producer, and this is how he demonstrates it in his latest release, published on Faith Disciplines. Live Is Waiting is an intense 6-track, with a neat sound and different settings. Mattia Prete manages to make his music penetrate the listener's mind, evoking different states of mind and demonstrating a great skill to operate in different contexts. Each cut tells a very different story, but all agree that its sonic condition is brilliant.

The author himself adds a few words about this release:
There are things that can't really be expressed with words, inner emotions that I must transform in musical forms, not to feel more free but to be able to observe them and to reflect on circumstances.

This is for me the way to understand better myself and to communicate with the world.

Nina is a conceptual sound artist, using field and voice recordings, tapping and cracking rhythms in never-ending journeys, pre-apocalyptic fairy tales, and emotional topography of unique landscapes, like the archaeologist of the human soul. Her music is a narcotic journey into the noisy rites and industrial myths strongly inspired by nature.

 

Nina is recently working on reimagining Slovak folklore by redefining cultural narratives via a project called ANCESTRAL ARCHEOLOGY. She performed in national galleries in Amsterdam or Prague, Berlin clubs like ://about blank, Suicide Circus or Tresor or industrial spaces, silos and old factories. Nina is currently based in Berlin and performs under the names Nina Pixel or BLACK ACID.

Wszystko to układa w preapokaliptyczne bajki i emocjonalną topografię wyjątkowych krajobrazów, niczym archeolog ludzkiej duszy. Jej muzyka to narkotyczna podróż do hałaśliwych rytuałów i industrialnych mitów silnie inspirowanych naturą.
Nina pracuje ostatnio nad ponownym wyobrażeniem słowackiego folkloru poprzez redefinicję kulturowych narracji w ramach projektu o nazwie ANCESTRAL ARCHEOLOGY. Występowała w narodowych galeriach w Amsterdamie czy Pradze, berlińskich klubach takich jak ://about blank, Suicide Circus czy Tresor oraz w industrialnych przestrzeniach, silosach i starych fabrykach. Nina mieszka obecnie w Berlinie i występuje pod pseudonimami Nina Pixel jak również BLACK ACID.

Darkmode est un partisan de la musique techno rythmée depuis près d'une décennie. 
S'étant fait un nom sur la scène techno, ses premières productions musicales ont attiré l'attention d'Andrew Weatherall, Radioactive Man, Regis et DJ Bone, après sa sortie initiale "The DATA EP" sur Testin Out Records.

Darkmode s'est rapidement fait un nom au fil des ans en tant que DJ, devenant le premier choix du Pick N' Mix de DJ MAG en 2006, et il a été finaliste dans la Raw Talent Selection d'IDJ Magazine en mars 2007 et décembre 2009.

Il a joué dans de nombreuses soirées, raves et festivals à travers le Royaume-Uni et l'Irlande au fil des ans, agissant comme un soutien solide pour des artistes tels que Radioactive Man, Ben Long, Phil Kieran, Marco Bailey, Ignition Technician, Bas Mooy, DJ 3000, Scan 7 et Dave Clarke.

Ses sorties musicales et son propre label, Biotech Recordings, continuent de lui apporter un soutien considérable.

Siempre estuve en contacto con la música de diferentes maneras, pero en 2015 me lo tomé en serio y comencé a mezclar. Creé un proyecto audiovisual que difundía a DJ´s del underground y luego organicé fiestas que eran conocidas a nivel regional.
En 2018 empiezo a producir. Ese mismo año lancé mi primer EP y desde allí fue un camino de aprendizaje. Edite en sellos de Inglaterra, España, Alemania, Italia, Francia, Grecia y algunos otros países más. En este último tiempo edite música en Subsist Records, Dynamic Form Records y dos LP en Diffuse Reality; Uno en Febrero y otro en publicarse en Noviembre de este año.
Actualmente con Joel Pulso llevamos adelante el proyecto autogestivo Histéresis ( @histeresisrecordings ), donde realizamos servicio de grabación, masterización, presentación gráfica y packaging en formato cassette.

Philipp Läufer is a prolific artist based in Berlin. After starting the post-punk band Bleib Modern and his own record label Black Verb Records, War Scenes became an outlet for his solo productions. In his first live jams and recordings under the alias, he quickly established a unique cut of techno; a hybrid of relentlessly propulsive lines, bred with broken, machine-born sounds, forming conflictingly raw and surgical output.

In 2017, he made his debut release on Berlin-based, Instruments of Discipline, with the 4-track “Unsystematic Schemes” EP. Filled with metallic distortion and industrialised sound explorations, the EP hit like a lethal injection of unfamiliarity. Continuing his affiliation with the imprint, 2018 welcomed the second release through the label, in the form of the highly-charged, 4-track “Anorexia” EP. This second offering took a more focused aim at earlier hints towards techno, yet still retaining a signature mark of impulsive experimentations and military aesthetics.

War Scenes live shows are pure punk-techno, using analog gear and only the most necessary elements to keep bodies moving.
