LLYN Y CWN - 'Megaliths' CD

Step into the shadows of ancient mysticism as Llyn Y Cwn, the maestro of Welsh dark ambient, unveils the mesmerising odyssey that is "Megaliths". A profound exploration of the sacred resonance embedded within stone circles, capturing years of field recordings from the silent and enigmatic monuments that stand as timeless witnesses to the ebb and flow of existence.

Ben Powell has crafted a sonic voyage that mirrors the sacred spaces marked by stoic pillars of rock, each track representing a specific site. Delving deep into the esoteric significance of stone circles, the album portrays these structures not merely as historical relics but as religious ceremonial sites where the veil between our world and the eternal realm becomes tantalisingly thin.

Extracting ambient soundscapes from burial chambers, Ben has utilised convolution reverbs to replicate the ominous ambiance of these ancient spaces. A veteran of stone circle exploration, Ben's decades-long journey has yielded field recordings that capture the haunting whispers of wind and the solemn caws of crows, enveloping the listener in a ghostly atmosphere that transcends the ordinary.

Guided by the wisdom found in Julian Cope's "The Modern Antiquarian" and Aurbrey Burl's "A Guide to the Stone Circles of Britain", Llyn Y Cwn embarks on a sonic pilgrimage across the country, exploring the remote bleakness of these sites. The album transitions from the cramped, gloomy chambers of tombs to the unroofed, wide rings - a journey from darkness to light, from the dead to the living, and from the grave to the sky.

"Megaliths" is a ritual, a sonic séance that beckons listeners to commune with the ancient energies that saturate these sacred circles - an atmospheric descent into the heart of mysterious realms, where the boundaries between the earthly and the spiritual blur into an indistinguishable, haunting atmosphere. Embrace the darkness, and let the stones speak. The journey begins now.

Información sobre MIXTAPE "INFRA":

Este compilado es una pequeña muestra de lo que esperamos vivir el próximo sábado 6 de abril, en el concierto que hemos denominado "INFRA", donde contaremos con la visita de Cristian Vogel, directamente desde Copenhague, Dinamarca. A propósito de la conmemoración de los 30 años de la edición de "Infra EP", su primer disco, el cual contaba con una cara A experimental y una cara B bailable, el evento contará con una muestra de ambas facetas del legendario artista, el cual estará acompañado por talentos nacionales tanto en la parte experimental como en la fiesta posterior. Esta iniciativa sucede gracias al esfuerzo conjunto entre F.O.M.O, Plataforma Grieta y Pueblo Nuevo. 
El mixtape abre con los tracks "Bahía Misteriosa" de Alisú, "Sky" de Valentina Maza y "Visión Blanca" (extracto) de Yadak (Andrea Gana), todos temas inéditos que son parte del disco "FrecuenciAzul", compilado a editarse por Pueblo Nuevo en mayo de 2024). Las tres artistas mostraran su faceta experimental/ambient en el inicio del concierto.

"Third Space Requiems" es una trilogía electroacústica de Cristián Vogel, compuesta en las últimas horas del año 2023 a la luz de acontecimientos que han marcado profundamente su historia en un plano íntimo o más universal. La obra está compuesta por los tracks: "Levitationism", "Story In Blood" y "The Siege of Mariupol". Esta composición refleja las inquietudes actuales de Vogel por los sonidos electroacústicos, los que son parte de su formación musical.

Posteriormente vienen tracks extraídos de dos de sus discos que me gustan mucho y fueron los que me permitieron conocer la música de Vogel: "You And I" y "Gigantic Tautological Machinery" del disco "Specific Momentific", editado por Mille Plateaux el 1996, más "La Isla Piscola" y "Esquina del Sol" del disco "Rescate 137", publicado por Novamute el 2000. En estos cuatro tracks se puede sentir esta doble atracción por los beats y por la rareza...

Finalmente, cerrando esta selección y ya como parte de la segunda parte del evento, donde Vogel realizará un set bailable extendido, presento un track de "Potenciómetro", trío conformado por René Roco, Polwor y yo, quienes tendremos el honor de preparar la transición entre la tarde experimental y la noche de fiesta FOMO. Del disco "Dizkasso EP" (Tensa Records, 2023), suena el track "Martillasso".

Swarm Intelligence has built up a name for habitually reducing darkened Berlin basements to ruins. 
Blending ambient, rhythmic noise and industrial sounds with half-step technoid rhythms and pounding 4/4 grooves, he has captured the attention of techno and noise fiends alike.

Simon has been very busy since the releases of "Black Iron Prision" (Acre Recordings) and “Faction” (Ad Noiseam) in 2014. 
Besides playing numerous concerts and becoming a notable presence among Berlin’s experimental scene, he has also embarked on an ambitious and conceptual recording project resulting in “Rust”, his third full-length album and second outlet via Ad Noiseam.

“Rust” is more than a collection of field recordings.
Drawing from his experience with techno, IDM and post-bass music, Swarm Intelligence delivers an album which combines the bleakness of its source material with a resolutely forward-thinking approach to distortion.

In 2020 Cosmo Rhythmatic released ‘Rakka,’ which presented Sasu Ripatti’s glorious return to his most famous alias: Vladislav Delay. Nonetheless, the album contents made it evident that this eventual comeback was not intended as a revival. Ripatti was reactivating the project and a steadfast evolution in its sound, a new approach to both the emotional and environmental characteristics of electronic composition.

The inspiration for this new course was given to Ripatti by a series of ventures into the wilderness of his native Finland, confronting “The raw, undefined, uncontrolled and uncorrupted power that exists within it.” The result is a hyperbolic, extreme ecosystem of sound populated by fast-moving drones, dense clouds on noise, and tectonic bass rumbles with hints of harmony birthed by harsh tonal contrasts. The sheer intensity of the music was only matched by the rigor of its craft.

2021 sees the coming of the second chapter in that very same journey. ‘Rakka II,’ once more on Cosmo Rhythmatic and made of that very same impassioned matter. Tho while on the first one, Ripatti seemed intent to portray the elemental forces as free, unabashed, and unconstrained by musical structures, here he appears to compile some of it in beats and progressions that have something in common with the wildest sides of dance music. It’s like consciousness tuning in with the non-human after struggling with its apparent distance and hostility, accepting its uncoded structures, and finally finding a common language for reconciliation.

As Ripatti puts it, Rakka II is a romantic summer vision full of hope and optimism;  after the brutalist vibes on the first one, the storm has passed and skies are clearing. 
Rakka II is ultimately another masterful achievement in an already stellar career and an unquiet blast of energy for chaotic times.

Chilean resident in Croatia, after surviving many years Barcelona has spent more the 20 years dedicated to electronic music and now to the most experimental sounds, everything started in the north of Chile in the year 2000 where he started as a DJ in different events (Upspace) after graduating as Sound Technician in Santiago de Chile, he was one of the musical pioneers in the north of the country where he explored sounds from Techno, House to Psytrance, in 2003 he emigrated to Barcelona where he absorbed and acquired all the wisdom of city where the year 2006 I create KRAFTOPTICAL, which is where the history of the label founded by him began in 2011, with almost 70 releases of producers from all over the globe, 2011 he started editing his own material and in 2013 he produced his first album "Future Elqui "with great response especially in more experimental circles of the circuit ... Then With" Secrets "(Ep) and Second Album" Contact Interestellar "produced in n Australia (Melbourne), makes its particular spatial sound make us travel always with common sense, with the heart and soul focused on the remotest of the Universe.

With “astronave “ Ep edited in 2018 I achieve a great audience especially in his country of origin chile and in several new directions , today with his New album that will be edited in March 2019 will continue his journey that started in "Future Elqui” 2013 reached a "Contact interestelar" 2015 traveling on the Earth more"..." 

 2020 in April released his compilation album "Universos" with 22 tracks edited during his career as a music producer with which he will continue his journey that began in "Future Elqui" 2013 reached a "Interstellar Contact" 2015 traveling in the "Astronave""2018 to land on the planet " Earth"the most wonderful"....

2021 he has released his fourth Album Venus for the label Barcelona Diffuse Reality included in the catalog of Teorema , where it exploits all its more experimental sound inspired in the star of the dawn , achieving a great arrival in the media Xlr8r, Apparel Music ,Electronic Groove magazine ,Cold Experiment etc... consolidating his discography ,also participated in the compilation of the Chilean label Panal Records , where with the track Robots 2040 shoots his most futuristic sound

2022 is about to launch in August the new Ep Teslatron where represents the relationship between the analog and digital through a sound journey driven by the electrical oscillations produced by circuits and voltage inspired by the famous Nikola Tesla .... This new Ep the Yulio will be the prelude to his fifth album Cosmic Fractal inspired by the teachings of Benoit Mandelbrot, which will be released at the beginning of 2023.
