Blending lo-fi indie with mid-tempo bedroom pop, Sam Florian writes and records his music in a small apartment in Karlstad, Sweden. With the release of his first single ‘Days’ in early 2018, Sam quickly gained a lot of attention by fans and music editors all over the world by being one of the highlights at Spotify's playlist Fresh Finds.  

Florian's debut album ‘Youth’, released on May 3rd 2019 by Hybris, is heavily influenced by the 80's, lo-fi beats and disco elements. The album drop did further manifest his unique role on the international pop scene of today and Sam continues to create music in that same spirit.

During the past few months Florian’s experimented with his native language, Swedish, which lead him to release his latest EP called ‘Vånda’ on September 6th 2019, featuring the two Swedish singles ‘Jag e ful i alla ljus’ and ‘Scenskräck’ that dropped earlier this year.

2020 will see the release of Sam Florians second album "Avocado Daydream"

Dirk Maassen - Solstice d'été  (pls. find me on spotify)

Dirk Maassen composes wonderful short piano pieces inspired by contemporary composers such as Yann Tiersen and Ludovico Einaudi. 

I took on his invitation to record any of his piano pieces, and told him I would record 'Addio'... just to find out that there was no score! ... So after working directly with him the score was created and here is my take on it.

Dirk Maassen: Addio

London based Indie-Pop 4-piece return with the first single, ‘No Plans (For This Year)’, pulled from their debut studio album, ‘Rut’, due out this October via Double A-Side Records. This new track marks a significant sonic expansion away from the band's lo-fi roots and is a pointer towards the more symphonic, baroque-pop elements of their new album - recorded at Abbey Road during spare studio hours. ‘No Plans (For This Year)’ maintains the intimacy that has been a mainstay of previous Tugboat Captain tracks whilst also adding a notable grandeur through the added presence of the band’s ramshackle orchestra of friends. Although penned well over a year ago the lyrical content of the song has become oddly prescient given the current circumstances especially since the band’s recent US tour was cut short due to coronavirus.
