A small independent label with ambitions to to defy hype in effort to create a musical balance. Counterweight starts from scratch with the simple goal of showcasing creative and soulful music.

Founder, DJ Devastate tragically passed in 2018. The label is kept spinning by his long time creative partner Max I Million and Dev's family.

We still put out dope music in honor of DJ Devastate.

BoomBaptist continues to revise the winning 90's Boom-Bap formula developed by golden era hip-hop greats. The Texas-based, RBMA participant has found his sound, receiving invitations to baptize Low End Theory, Tokyo, & Bonnaroo Music Festival. He has previously collaborated with Bun B, Guilty Simpson, Black Milk, Sadat X, & Fat Tony, landing music placements on Comedy Central’s “Broad City”, BBC radio, Soulection radio, This American Life, & NPR. He is the co-founder of boogie/funk outfit The Vapor Caves and owner of Cream Dream Records. His performances have accompanied such acts as: Kaytranada, RJD2, & Mndsgn.

Radioprogrammet er et af de få danske programmer, der udelukkende beskæftiger sig med de mange genre der findes inden for hip hop kulturen. Specielt Golden Era Hip Hop og Dansk undergrunds Hip Hop. I det ugentlige program bringer KTL interviews med rappere, dj's, producere, grafitti malere og andre branchefolk.

LR Blitzkrieg is back with his second single and / video “In these streets” featuring Underground hip hop vets Mr.Live and U.G. (Cella Dwellas). Produced by U.G., the hard hitting track takes aim at today’s Hip hop climate with the intent to kill. The video is a mad dash through the streets of brooklyn as Blitz and his like minded MC friends chase “Lil” and “Yung” played by Qaasim and Khalil Middleton (of the group Juggernaut War Party, and of television's The Getdown, The Naked Brothers Band and American Idol.) to teach them a lesson in what real hip hop is.

One half of acclaimed duo The Works which he formed with friend and fellow producer Twelve Beats to release the Yokohama EP (Rust Music) in 2009.

Has been involved in the production of several projects including Danish outfits Vincent Van Go Go and Nobody Beats The Beats.

Was commissioned in 2006 by Marc Mac to submit a remix for the Visioneers' Dirty Old Remixes (BBE) appearing alongside heavyweights such as Dj Jazzy Jeff and Capitol A.

In recent years his work has featured on mixtapes and compilations courtesy of Earnest Endeavours, Brownswood Recordings and First Word Records.

2012 saw the release of his first ever solo project Horses & Diamonds; the 11 track strong largely instrumental hiphop EP on Danish rapper Per Vers' imprint Mixed Ape Music. The EP featured cover artwork by Tokio Aoyama.

In 2013 his follow up project Short Suite dropped on that same label.

A 45 of left-overs from the Horses & Diamonds and Short Suite sessions surfaced via Pasteelo Records in 2022.

Since 2015 Terry has gravitated towards the world of house music releasing five projects clocking in at around the 120bpm mark; Genealogia (Copenhagen Underground Posse, 2016), Space Million (Creak Inc., 2018), Breeze Unlimited (Boogie Café Records, 2021), Space Million RMXs (Creak Inc, 2023) and Walkin' (Creak Inc., 2023)

Terry's latest outings has yielded spins from influential selectors such as Soulection, Carista, Alexander Nut (NTS), Mr. Beatnick (NTS), Marina Trench, EVM 128, James Rudie, Sassy J (Red Light Radio) and FS Green.

2015 / 2016, Chief released more successful projects, such as the « We The Prolific » album with John Robinson and the free download project « Echo Chamber », toured in the US, South Africa and Europe, shared the stage with Flying Lotus, Hudson Mohawke, Gilles Peterson, Mala, Lefto, MF Doom, Gaslamp Killer,  Peanut Butter Wolf, Dam Funk, Moka Only, BLU, and more.

Chief was a Dj guest on BBC Radio for Gilles Peterson, NTS Radio, Rinse FM, Studio Brussels, Brooklyn Radio and more.

Akai MPCs (originally MIDI Production Center, now Music Production Controller) are a popular series of electronic musical instruments originally designed by Roger Linn and produced by the Japanese company Akai from 1988 onward. Intended to function as a powerful kind of drum machine, the MPCs drew on design ideas from machines such as the Sequential Circuits Inc. Studio 440 and the Linn's own Linn 9000, combining a powerful MIDI sequencer with the ability to sample one's own sounds. A major influence to Roger Linn's design was his love of rubber pads and how they could be pushed, prodded, and banged; this can be seen clearly in his designs especially from the MPC-60 onwards. Linn also had a passion for squares: thus, no round pads on the MPC Series. Later models feature increasingly powerful sampling, storage, interfacing and sound manipulation facilities, which broaden the use of instrument beyond just drum and rhythm tracks.
