A slow drone with a hint of melody coming through, using only the Terra. I layered two versions of this in Logic, subjecting each of the tracks to different effects and panning - mainly reverb based effects and Arturia's Motion. There is a bit of noise in the mix. At first I struggled to isolate it but then grew to like how it added a bit of grit and also triggered interesting pops and sparkles in the Zoia patch I was using in the initial mix. So, I'm going to consider it an aesthetic choice for now.

The first half of the track I wanted to capture the spaciousness and mystery of a cavernous space station – brutalist in design, surrounded by mist. The second half I wanted to take a deep dive into the inner workings of the station, where we hear the isolated clicks of machines and robots discussing the work being done.

based around a synth pad from the PS1 game "fluid". i added some lightly hand-edited dub drum loops, and later programmed a second kit to play call and response with the dub drums. a bass pulse was added to keep things moving. the "2001 space" patch from newfangled audio's generate synth was layered in, as was an improvised lead piano line. textural samples from mode audio and another PS1 game, "silent hill", help thicken the atmosphere. some quiet volume-faded guitar emerges before the closing vinyl slowdown effect (unfiltered audio's needlepoint vst).

In this album we welcome Albanian musicians and artists Bledi Boraku and Mardit B. Lleshi, with their album called ‘Saggio’. Their work together combines Bledi’s electric guitar tones with Mardit’s textured cello timbres. Whilst they work together regularly in live performances, this album is their official debut release.

The album was performed and recorded live, capturing the acoustics of the room as a key component of this record. This gives the album another dimension from contemporary classical music, which tends to be produced pristinely, with high-end mixing equipment. There is a balance of darkness and warmth throughout these pieces, which play through seamlessly as one continuous listen.
