So I heard the boss battle music from Baby Felix Halloween (an obscure Game Boy Color game that nobody cares about), and I was immediately reminded of a certain song from a certain other Game Boy game... So what do I do? Combine the two songs, of course!

My entry for the third MusicWeeklies, a new musical challenge every week! This week's theme is "Villain". 

Because I do villain music all the time for Sentinels of the Multiverse, I decided to do something different here and went with a SNES-style boss theme.

Normally music takes me a long time to compose, but with these, my goal is to get them done much more quickly and not to over-think it.

A more tense forest exploration track, written to be able to play even during encounters, rather than having to switch to battle theme, for this area.

Early on in my work on the upcoming game Americana Dawn, I had designed my own set of SNES sounds from raw samples, in order to create what would sound like a never released classic from era of Squaresoft's 90s masterpieces.

The direction of the game has since changed enough, that SNES music will no longer be the best choice. I've since discussed with the game director the possibility of releasing all the SNES music written for the game at those stages in some capacity, and she was completely open to me doing this in any form that I would see fit.

I'll be uploading more of these gradually.


Deep Within the Woods (Original SNES RPG Music)

Somebody had a really good 2A03 rendition of this song but their account is sadly lost to the ages. But I think this song is great and converts well to 8-bit (maybe because the composer is well-known for chiptune). I think it sounds kinda like Mole Mania.
