Toolroom’s award-winning duo Mark Knight and Funkagenda team up once again, to deliver an almighty anthem that rocked Miami’s foundations to the core, with support from Tiesto and the Swedish House Mafia.
‘Antidote’ kicks off with a trance inspired bassline, that prowls auspiciously towards a beastly kick and melodic pluck. The breakdown sees the calm before the storm, as the main riff and heavenly pads filter up into a euphoric chord pattern before rushing towards a mammoth drop, where mass hysteria on the dance-floor is a certainty.
Something a little different from this esteemed duo, yet still no doubting ‘Antidote’ was huge at this year’s Winter Music Conference, lighting up the Terrace at Space for Toolroom Knights, Pete Tong’s pool party and the Beatport beach party.

XiJaro & Pitch is a name that is slowing starting to creep into the tracklist of the major players on the Trance scene. Their sound is so driving yet they still keep a lot of the emotion flowing throughout, so we are more than glad to have their 'In Silence', collaboration with Artifi.

XiJaro & Pitch's mix comes with an electric under laying bassline and huge square riff in the break. We are sure this is one Trancer that will get plenty of rotation throughout the Spring. For a perfect peak time trancer, we are also treated to an Artifi Mix where things get louder and more banging!

On the remix is one of favorite Soho duo currently, R.E.L.O.A.D mix. Here they keep the pace of the original mixes but adding a rawer sound to proceedings, throwing in a few twists and turns on the way. Their take on the melody really does give the track a momentous feel. This is a cracking remix from another up and coming talent.

Highly Sedated return to Steve Angello’s respected Size Records with their latest single, ‘Got Some Water’.

Titled ‘Got Some Water’, the track intros with dark synths, a strong bassline underpinning spoken lyrics. A dramatic breakdown leads into echoing sung sections, before the track’s climactic chorus. The expert production compliments the memorable lyrics.

Consisting of two vocalists, a photographer, art director and a producer, Highly Sedated aim to push the boundaries of electronic music by fusing elements of a traditional band in their approach to performance and production. An ode to the five-member band’s realization of their ‘existence’ to follow their passion of music, Highly Sedated is a result of a group of brother-like friends with a wide difference of musical backgrounds coming together. “We didn’t want to join the circus, so we created our own,” says the group.

Regarding the project, Steve Angello says, "I'm lucky to be involved and I'm excited to be the chosen one, it's very hard to find a group of friends that's been through everything together to get here and their only purpose is to bring incredible music and art to the world. This is Highly Sedated.”

With so many standout tracks on Vintage & Morelli's "My Rose Enchanted Destiny" debut artist album, we felt obliged to highlight another favorite, "Afterglow," as a single, alongside wonderful new remixes by SNR and Mizar B, both celebrated veterans in their own right. 

In the Serbian talent's original version, a stormy, trance-centered arrangement ultimately crescendoes to an ethereal climax. The unexpected breakbeat outro is simply mesmerizing.

The sensational SNR, who continues to receive tremendous acclaim for his productions and live DJ sets alike, offers a high-octane rendering of "Afterglow." It is fair to say his inspired, anthemic take would suit Ruby Skye or various other prominent Bay Area venues, where he now consistently performs. A thunderous rhythm and exhilarating lead propel his composition toward the goosebumps-inducing breakdown. In the latter half of the arrangement, the drop and subsequent progression are simply electrifying.

Mizar B, who has quietly earned a global reputation for intelligent progressive, offers a moving interpretation as well. If SNR's remix is a festival anthem, it's fair to say that Mizar B's deeper take has its sights on the underground. The Polish veteran crafts a mystical, if not other-worldly soundscape in the early going, courtesy of an intricate rhythm and a variety of atmospheric flourishes. The main vocal theme, which arrives at the quarter turn, is heavenly, especially when accompanied with Mizar B's piano in the subsequent breakdown. The layered groove that appears in the second half of the composition completes his visionary take.

If you’ve not yet come across Ryan Farish, well don’t feel bad. He’s a producer more interested in living and breathing music creation than he is shouting about it. Releasing it, over many a year, through his Rytone Entertainment imprint, it’s given Ryan free license to continue producing outside of electronic music’s established margins. 

Not trance per se, not New Wave exactly, EDM-ish… yet not, (ditto for chillout, electronica and a half dozen other subsets,) it’s an artistic latitude that’s served the US born-&-based producer handsomely. It’s seen him rack up a string of Billboard top 10s, become a co-writer of a GRAMMY Award-Nominated Recording and a YouTube channel along with fan created videos adding up to a view-count north of 73 million. His music is regularly featured on major US television networks, as well as motion pictures (most recently including the marketing of Despicable Me sequel). Very much the producer’s producer (with the sensibilities to match), his tracks are used in-store as part of Bang & Olufsen’s demo programming and he was handpicked by Audi for the carmaker’s Remarkable Audi video series. 

In November - in a rare break with his Rytone release tradition - Black Hole Recordings have secured the rights to his as-ever eclectic new single, ‘Stories In Motion’. 

In its Original Mix form, ‘Stories’ is another textbook example of what makes Ryan’s releases the unclassified, breed-apart productions they are. Imagine U2-esque guitars, prefacing halcyon synths and quixotic vocals (as lyrically infectious as they are verbal), all wrapped in an extravagant, radio delighting production.

On Sunny Lax’s remix, the Anjunabeats’ centurion moves ‘Stories’ emphasis closer to the trance end, booming up its bass and rearticulating the track’s mainline in a more euphoric fashion. 

Tying the mix package off, for his interpretation Sied van Riel goes all-in-trance. It’s not for the faint of floor-heart though. Metal-on-metal percussion, deeply resonating LFO, tech-grit and Hitchcock-tense sub-riffs conspire to turn Ryan’s ‘Stories’ into a tripped-out, late night ride to the club side.

Next up on Powerhouse Music we have Marc Benjamin returning to the label with his latest dancefloor friendly release. Reflection is Marc Benjamin’s second collaboration with Powerhouse after his stunning collaboration with Laidback Luke ‘We’re Forever’ back in 2014. For his new single Benjamin has teamed up with Dutch 18-year old talent DNMKG for a real Big Room House record. The uplifting vocals from Barbadian singer Jaicko Lawrence are accompanied by a crisp production that will surely shake up those clubs during the coming months. This is without a doubt headliner material.
