Silk Royal is thrilled to present Silk Remixed 04, the fourth installment of the annual series, featuring various veteran talents and rising stars in progressive. Kicking off the compilation is Nigel Good's jubilant remix of "Sumr" by Dezza & Shoreliners. Fresh off his debut artist album, which reached #1 overall on Beatport, Nigel treats us to a sparkling, complextro-influenced progressive gem, rife with feel-good vibes. Vintage & Morelli, one of the standout artists from Silk's Arrival division, offers a fresh, peak-hour take on "Night Time" by Sound Quelle. A bouncy house rhythm sits below a stormy and evocative lead, punctuated by a haunting vocal sample. The main break is a goosebumps-inducing aural experience, as the vocal motif and piano poignantly coalesce. Aeron Aether's "Synthanelia" still finds a home in our radio and live sets; Jayeson Andel, a breakthrough artist on our imprint, offers a full-on trance stormer with his new rendering, which has received early radio support from Arty. The memorable string themes of the original soar above an adrenalin-fueled, stadium-rocking groove. French talent Matt Fax, another leader of Arrival, offers a new interpretation of one of Silk Royal's early releases, Pconvolve's "Cosmology". As the title implies, celestially-inspired synths transport the listener to the far reaches of the galaxy; a progressive breaks interlude and explosive drop in the latter half of the track are true release highlights. David Broaders closes out the first half of the release with an awe-inspiring interpretation of "Starman" by Gregory Esayan. A thunderous groove resolves into a beautiful piano and string-themed breakdown; these poignant melodies are some of the most enduring from the compilation this year.

New label recruit Illuminor, a rising duo from Australia, add a bit more punch to eleven.five's classic "Pinnacle". A highly innovative groove, as well as new variations on the main piano motif from the original, stand out in this fantastic new version. Trusty label veteran Sundriver offers a driving take on Denis Laurent feat. Kaisa Martina's "All I Need". A vintage lead chord progression, with numerous euphoric synth layers and arpeggios, paves the way for Kaisa's romantic vocal in the breakdown. British sensation Ben Coda, who has contributed in the past to the Silk Remixed series, returns with a peak-hour rendering of Zack Roth's beloved "Tekkadon". A clubby groove crescendoes into the breakdown, where the newly added, trance-influenced lead shines, alongside the memorable original theme. Russian duo Soarsweep, fresh off an EP on parent label Silk Digital, offers another visionary remix; this time, they have accentuated the emotive themes of "Both", originally a collaboration between Blood Groove & Kikis and LTN. Closing out the EP, Harold-Alexis, one of the stars of our chillout division (Silk Sofa), offers a drum & bass rework of Seagrave's "Storm". With bleeding-edge sound design throughout, this emotive track will be appreciated by fans in search of visionary, outside-of-the-box EDM.

The girl is hard at work on her first album and from what we have heard everything is crack. Bebe is one of the most talented writers we have ever met and dont get us started on her voice. For us the beauty of a good song is a strong melody but also cleverness and Bebe is unmatched in coming up with interesting ways to sing about things that have been sang about forever! When Bebe sent us this song we were floored by its creativity and catchiness and of course were going to Remix it! The song itself was about 140 BPM which was challenging to slow down to 130 but we actually enjoyed the way her voice sounded stretched on the song. We paired it with some strong piano chords and here you have it!"

Talamanca has become a well-known talent in the global trance & progressive scene in recent years, thanks to a consistent output of breathtaking melodic and uplifting compositions. For the first time, we present a full EP by the Dutch sensation on Silk Royal, featuring two stunning new tracks in his signature style.

The title cut, "A Day At The Beach", could not suit our mid-summer schedule more: radiant vibes and a euphoric chord progression immediately transport the listener to the shores of Ibiza. Numerous melody lines enter the soundscape, as the groove continues to crescendo toward the main break. In the song's climax, the beat drops out, and we're met by gentle guitar, followed by a breathtaking piano solo. A true showcase of Talamanca's musical talents, "A Day At The Beach" is an instant classic.

Not to be outdone, "Expedition" is a touching homage to the vintage melodic progressive house sound of Dinka. Once again, an energetic groove is met by a variety of lush melodic layers, as well as vocal stabs and effects. A variety of emotive chord changes contribute profound compositional depth to the piece. Although 'Clear' is unmistakably Avery, it's harder than it's ever been before. 

The claps and snares have been shelved for a more rugged, 4/4 techno roller, one that transfixes with hypnotic synths and delicate analogue glitches.

Some of the rowdiest drum 'n' bass of the last five years has come courtesy of Austrian producer Mefjus (pictured). 

Tilt Recordings, Mindtech and Disturbed were a few of the labels his earliest work was released on and in 2012 he hooked up with tech-infected d'n'b purveyors Critical Recordings for the first time. That was the cutthroat Enei collaboration 'Crawlers' and he released his debut album, 'Emulation', on the Kasra-founded imprint last year. 

Premiere: Mefjus & Phace 'Clock Off'

A year on from 'Fernweh', Laux is releasing two split remix EPs that give the album a complete re-imagining. There are edits from the likes of Steve Rachmad, Ray Kajioka and one Marcel Dettmann.

We are bringing back our earlier release of Musty's production, 'Sunny Days' for a fresh new take with this exciting 5 track EP. 5 glorious reworks of an already amazing track with some of the most notable and awe inspiring producers on the scene. Prepare to be taken away to various places that this EP will guide you to, ensuring nothing but the best pieces of divine music possible. 

To lead the way, we have a phenomenal 2016 Respray of 'Sunny Days' by the Argentinian talent himself. Keeping in touch with the striking formation of the original melodies, this version relaxes on the intensity, with soft pads & a more pluckier arrangement of synths. The break is as beautiful, a sensually sweet moment of pianos cascading into the full bloom, launching into an energetic state again. 

Next up we have remarkably soothing Chilled mix, and as implied, this one has the ulterior motive to soften the tempo, latching onto the more relaxing and calmed side. It works well with the melodious elements still keeping the pleasant vibes going, in tune with the lagging percussives, slowing it down to a light pace.

Following this; Talamanca, renowned for his heart achingly beautiful sounds adds his touch on this remix. Fast paced, gorgeously sweet and positively euphonious. The cadence of it further accentuates the stunning chord work, eliciting an imagery of the most sought after beach filled, blue skied day we all seek. You're allured into the music, like a bee to a pollinated flower, there is no stopping the sensation. 

Roald Velden is the next to populate this divine EP with his smoldering, melody fused touches. A more mellow take is the core of this version, soft with the layers of chords and synths. Padded percussions create a blissful, soul searching aura to lose yourself in. The added harmonizing vocals in the background deliver an ethereal feel, leaving a lingering taste of this production it's that canorous.

To close off this spectacular EP, we have the excellent Denis Neve, bringing his signature sounds of vibrancy, airy structured & gentle soundscapes. Bright & punchy synth elements spark a glowing aura in his faster paced remix. A breakdown that is worth a million smiles completes this delightful version, eventually being led back into the stunning layers of perfection that is the melody.

A star studded line up like this was necessary to bring out the colorful aura of the original, something to really capture the meaning of what summer is, something that we can all resonate with. Incredibly constructed, this lavish EP bears some talents that have shaped this genre and we are speechless in what was delivered. We are truly delighted to see this warm and uplifting release taking its spot on our release schedule this week, as we think we have a fantastic release right in front of you. For those of you following the scene for a while know all about eh amazing talent from Florida, Brady Phillips and his superb alias of Kono. Over the years he’s been making creative and melodic productions that got him support from some of the globetrotting DJ’s having the world as their workplace. We of course feel great satisfaction to see him join us on original here on the label, with a smooth melodic progressive production screaming and steaming summer and white sandy beaches all over it. 

To top things up, we see a huge lineup of talented names digging in on remix duty, with 2 brand new names joining the ever expanding PHW family and we are thankful to see them join us with their quality and forward thinking strategies. 

First up is a brand new alias from Norway, as we see the newly established name of Visionate join us and the scene for the first time. We do feel this is a name to remember, as there are plenty more coming your way from them in the coming months. Though we need to get the journey started for them, and we do that today, with a absolutely gorgeous re-take of Bradys original. With a slightly more rounded feel, more punch and added on textures, they most definitely is to capture your ears and senses about what is to come. An absolutely stunning opener from them, and we hope there is a lot of you out there taking this name under your wings, they are true talents of the game. 

Next up is another debut on PHW, but a familiar name on the scene, as the Los Angeles bound producer Nikhil Prakash, known from Lange Recordings, Freegrant Music, Alter Ego, Infrasonic and InfraProgressive to mention some joins in on the label with a stunning re-take for us. He truly dig in and builds a more progressive trance inspired production, packed with massive  elements to build a total knockout for the floors. He is really showing his A-game here, just as we expected when we invited him. It is a great blend of chord progressions, driving elements and smooth melodic arrangements, all nicely packed down to this piece of magic.

Returning artist, Raphael Mayers returns to PHW once again, known since a few months back having his latest production getting supported by legend Ferry Corsten for a couple of weeks through Corstens Countdown as well as support from Roger Shah and many more, he now returns to us with an epic interpretation, built with his always soothing and energetic style of progressive. It is a super melodic production, just truly oozing summer, sunny beaches and the sand in the toes feel.We definitely think we have a super package here, filled with music in different progressive styles, bringing on something to everyone!

Highly Sedated return to Steve Angello’s respected Size Records with their latest single, ‘Got Some Water’.

Titled ‘Got Some Water’, the track intros with dark synths, a strong bassline underpinning spoken lyrics. A dramatic breakdown leads into echoing sung sections, before the track’s climactic chorus. The expert production compliments the memorable lyrics.

Consisting of two vocalists, a photographer, art director and a producer, Highly Sedated aim to push the boundaries of electronic music by fusing elements of a traditional band in their approach to performance and production. An ode to the five-member band’s realization of their ‘existence’ to follow their passion of music, Highly Sedated is a result of a group of brother-like friends with a wide difference of musical backgrounds coming together. “We didn’t want to join the circus, so we created our own,” says the group.

Regarding the project, Steve Angello says, "I'm lucky to be involved and I'm excited to be the chosen one, it's very hard to find a group of friends that's been through everything together to get here and their only purpose is to bring incredible music and art to the world. This is Highly Sedated.”
