The sun rose exactly on cue - at the 1:20 mark; it was cloudless, and were suspended between between the energies of day and night; the moon just on day off full in front of the decks (i.e. behind the dance floor), and the rising sun behind me and my beautiful dancer.

It was the first time I've built a set with a performer, and it was ace. A beautiful way to birth a day...

Yemaya Festival Sunrise Set 2016

A compilation recorded live at Revolver Saturday 20/03/2016.

When you are on a quest for a basic ham, cheese, pineapple and egg pizza but you smell the Portuguese Spiced pan roasted chicken, and you change your order, that's the Paz effect.  Just when you entered Revs for a tech-house kick and clap, you get a wild world fiesta of dance, and you need to watch the smooth Persian looking bloke so you have the right dance moves.  Percussive, bumping BPM's spanning new music empires from Spain, Portugal, England, Trinidad, Venezuela, Mexico, South Africa, Italy, Brazil, Angola, Côte d'Ivoire, Persia, America, and all other expat communities.

Paz - Robo Totem - Recorded at Revolver

For years I've been conceptualising my own podcast series, unknowing which direction I wanted to take it musically, and what I wanted a listener to understand from listening to it. Searching through energy levels, moods, meaning, moral... and what I landed on was an emission of empowerment. "Seize The Being" means, to foresee the best you can be and make sure you become that. See your dreams and take them tightly with two hands. Nothing will get in your way with the right attitude.

I recorded this mix at home when I had the sudden urge to, listening back to it I realised that this was going to be the first of a personal podcast series as I felt a lot when I recorded it and just as much every time I listen back to it. Though I would generalise this mix as deep house, "Seize The Being" series won't be restricted to genre, more so it will encapsulate a powerful mood conjured with deeper and more progressive styles of techno and house.

The release of this podcast series also coincides with my first claimable tour, consisting of 12 gigs over 2 months including some of the best brandings in Sydney (SASH), Melbourne (Circus, Breakfast Club) and Queensland (elsewhere, Dragonfruit, Depth), supporting Alex Stein on 2 stops of his Australian tour (Melbourne and Coffs Harbour), and ending my run of gigs with NSW's biggest boutique psychedelic event, Psyfari.

Live Recording from Open:Source:02, my warm up set for Markantonio B2B Luigi Madonna.  Flight delays meant my set went from 1.5hrs to almost 3 hours so this is an extended techno journey.  Definitely a great energy on the dancefloor to play to .. thank you everyone who came out and supported !

Leading out of Lane 8 on the Sunday night, main stage, at Rabbits Eat Lettuce, was one of our most prized discovery's, Doppel. Playing an all original live set kicking off the Bassic Records session, Doppel dove down with us into the monster Shipwreck, his music evolving in a beautiful syncopation with the expanding energy of the crowd. Seamless evolution through sound, is a true journey in which a listener must surrender themselves to the uncontrollable urge to dance. 

Doppel's set at Rabbits Eat Lettuce 2017 features; Bassic Records releases, including his Misty Moon remix as the opener; hints of his upcoming EP; his hit "Melt" released by Open Records and unreleased material for some amazing labels that continue to expand the endless horizon of Doppel.

My next guest on Ultra Sound is none other than the Australian virtuoso producer Maddy Hughes, a.k.a. funkform! Maddy, hailing from Cairns in far north Queensland, has been one of Australia's best exports, producing some super slick sounds over the years and it's safe to say he played a part in shaping the sound i produce today. More recently, his chilled productions are showing that he's not just confined to prog house but has a wide array of skills in producing excellent downtempo and electronica. With the "Synthesia" release on the horizon, including remixes from myself and GMJ Music, and his first major album release around the corner due out on Open Records, Maddy was a clear choice to have on the show.
