Really looking forward to starting my night "Blackout" with my buddy Danny Fry (W Hotel Bali/Chile) at one of the coolest places in Singapore at the moment…. KILO. 

No more having to compromise on my sound and style. It's refreshing to be able to do my thing and not have to worry about the club owner telling me its too deep.. or needs it happy… uplifting… whatever… hate having restrictions!

Last time we played at Kilo, it was INSANE! Probably one of the BEST Gigs I've done in SingaBore EVER! Im really looking forward to our next gig at KILO on July 18th. 

To celebrate the start of our new night Im giving out a mix I did a few weeks ago. 60mins of my usual deep techy moody music for you to drift off into space. Took me awhile with programming and also finding tracks to match, but by far one of my fav sets so far lots of beautiful tracks in there.

Originally from Barcelona and now based in Bali, Hugo Marti is an experienced and highly regarded Dj/Producer, specialising in house and techno music.

At only 25, Hugo already has eight years of music production under his belt, enjoyed many releases on different record labels, performed at well respected events around the world and truly established himself as one of the leading young talents in dance music today.

In 2013 Hugo launched his new record label Briza Music. Collaborating with many producers from Europe, Briza Music is already supported by the best international Djs such as Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola, Luciano, Loco Dice, Dennis Ferrer and many others.

For the last 4 years, he has also been a big part of Happy Techno, the leading Spanish techno promoter and record label, performing at the best clubs in Barcelona.

Since moving to Bali, Hugo is playing at the most successful venues on the island and now resident at W Hotel's WOOBAR as well as starting his own night, "SONFADE" at MINT.                  

Hugo Marti continues to push the boundaries with his DJ sets and productions, delivering the freshest sounds for dancefloors across the world.

"Melancholy Is The Pleasure Of Being Sad." - Victor Hugo.  

Melanchollia is such a complex emotion..... Its just really hard to explain it. But I just LOVE being in that state......  and the right melancholic music either makes you remember everything or forget everything. 

I love putting melancholic mixes... its sooooo much more challenging for me. I can put out a 1h our techy techno happy banging whatever mix any time... any day.....too easy... THIS is the real challenge for me.  

Lots of my favourite tracks in this mix..... some new... some old.... all damn good nonetheless. =)

BLACKOUT 04 - Zig Zach "The Pleasure Of Being Sad" (Oct 2014)

Sorry for the delay on this month's mix. =P But this one is well worth the wait. A nice dreamy melodic mix from Dan Paris up next on our podcast.

Earlier in the month, I had Dan and Iain Donnachie as our guests for the BLACKOUT at 25 Circular Road party.... and they both put out an amazing set and had the place pumping!!

Some beautiful tracks here in this mix!! Sit back and enjoy the ride!

Dan Paris -Digging Deep (Digging Deep / UK)

With his roots cemented in the early house scene in London, Dan has enjoyed playing at many of the capitals finest venues including Ministry Of Sound, Raw, Brixton Academy and arguably the most hedonistic of them all - The End.

Since moving to Singapore in 2002, Dan has continued to evolve his sound with healthy doses of Deep House and melodic techno at the heart of all his sets. as one of the team that brought Digging Deep to our island, his music has continued to push the underground scene at Home Club, StereoLab, Blu Jaz and at various private parties both here in Singapore and across SE Asia


BLACKOUT 05 - Dan Paris "Autumn Leaves" (Nov 2014)

I was asked by local techno festival Super 0 (www.super0.sg) to do a mix for their podcast campaign ( https://www.mixcloud.com/Super0Sg/ ) and kicking it all off would be a mix from their resident DJ.... ME!! They will be featuring mixes from some of the artists that have played before on their party in the near future, so  please follow them on mixcloud. 

This mix was done on short notice, and took about 4 or 5 days to gather a few tracks and took me about 3 or 4 hours to arrange the tracks properly and record the mix.

"Dusk Till Dawn" is a late night after hours mix. You know, you've come back from the clubs, you're just chilling out with your mates on the sofa...you've just poured yourselves your last drink for the night.....u kick back...and you let the hypnotic melodies, bells and trippy vocals just take you on a journey into space. As the last two tracks come in, daylight breaks and you feel a sense of happiness. You've had a great night with amazing friends, you've partied and listened to some great music....and you feel thankful for everything! =) 

That's what I'd like to think this mix is about!! haha

Zig Zach - Access Underground (Nov 2015)

Damn it's been awhile since i've done a mix! Running the events and agency has kept me crazy busy over the last year or so,  but with all the free time that I have now coz of this pandemic..... I really have no excuse. 

Another reason, why I had to do a mix was because Blackout Agency was invited by More Unst Radio to host a takeover, so I gathered a few of my homies , Brendon P, Maurice Simon and the master of the trippyness Eric Volta to put together something for the show. (All other mixes be up soon) 

I went into this mix with the idea of creating something that could be played at sunset, sunrise or an after party. Something trippy, but laid back and not too intense. I put together some of my fav tracks here for this mix and ended on a note with "Bryan Ferry - Don't Stop The Dance." These four words mean even more to me than they did before, especially in these crazy times where clubs, bars, events, concerts festivals and everything that I love has now come to a standstill. 

Whatever troubles, whatever these new rules are, whatever the circumstances we may face, even as we are locked in our own home, put on some music and.... "Don't Stop The Dance."
